Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

How are people getting trade in rebate for existing Pixel? Is it on google store site or Amazon?

almost feel like downgrading from the 6 to 6A. cant stand the sensor. works okay indoors but when im outdoors its like 5% working.
Do you have a screen protector on it? I had a templated glass screen protector on before and hated the sensor. I just switched to a film protector and the sensor works much better now.

That's weird, $85 trade in for a pixel 3 in good condition, but $295 for a pixel 3a with cracked screen.

In any case I'll take it.

Is there anything you have to do to get the buds? I have the 6a in my cart on Google but it doesn't mention anything about the buds, so I guess I just have to hope they come?

Doubt I'd have popped for this but just cracked the screen on my 4a last week (bad enough that it is basically unusable), so getting $262 in trade is hard to pass up.

Not worth it. The Tensor chip overheats. They're just offloading all the overstock. The connectivity is also very bad because it has the same crappy modem from Samsung (no mmWave unless you buy the Verizon model too). Screen still 60hz, no wireless charging, and a terrible fingerprint scanner. Post is also misleading, there aren't 5 years of updates, only 3 years of major updates. It might be a good deal with the $300 trade-in, but this is garbage full price.

FYI - I was quoted $295 trade-in credit for my pixel 3a with cracked screen at Google 🙂 and got the free pixel buds. feels like a heck of a deal to me!

edit- I purchased unlocked without a Google Fi plan
Thanks! Dumping my broken 3a for 300 bucks is a ridiculous deal!

I did the subscription and it didn't advertise the buds... Until checkout. Maybe go to the final page?

Yeah the pixel 3 vs 3a is odd. Was going to get my mom an upgrade til I saw that. Upgrading my 4a 5g. I got it for 350 so getting 300 for it was good with me. Did not see pixel buds in my order when I checked out and completed my order. Did anyone else?
