Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Debating if getting a used 3A to trade in is worth

What stops them from saying "oops the trade-in is only worth $50" since the trade-in value is only an "estimate"?

Nothing really, but om the other hand this is likely the last chance your 3a will get such a high estimated trade in value

Got a 3a because an old iphone 6 was worth $200 on trade in. That pixel 3a is now worth $300(more than I paid). Getting a $400 phone plus earbuds for less than $200 is a deal!

Hm, this might be a good way to get rid of my Pixel 4 for $300.

If i want to use it on Verizon but i prefer unlocked. Any difference between Unlocked vs Verizon vs Google Fi
I have Verizon and have the Unlocked Pixel 6 since Nov. You would only notice the difference with the Verizon 5G version if you live in a major city and stream shows or movies from your phone. I personally wouldn't want the Verizon bloatware.

When did you get your 6a to experience this claim?
I was also dismissive of this claim, but...

Regardless, reviews so far say it's not any faster. I actually don't have any issues with mine. It's not super fast, but it's good 95% of the time on the first try. Note: I use a plastic screen protector, not glass. I've also noticed that if you have dry hands, it's significantly worse. Use lotion.

$300 for my 3a XL is tempting, but I'll lose that unlimited photo storage. Don't know what to do.
Pull the trigger if you have Amazon prime and will continue to renew prime membership, can backup photos in Amazon cloud. That's what I did. We won't get the 300$ value again for pixel 3a.

Got 300 for my wife's 4a 5G. Plus free buds. Decent deal.

Remember that trade in prices drop dramatically after the first few days.

why r people not letting go unlimited storage. get a spare hard disk or get external one and connect to router. besides 3a uploads are not same quality just their compressed high quality.
The only thing i will miss is ability to look up photos instantly on google photos for quick work. my pixel is on its last legs. so i'll have to get a new phone anyways.

No buy.
I'm the same, just got a Moto G Stylus 5G 2022. Like it a lot.

This one I'm ordering for my wife who doesn't care about it. She'll love the upgrade from the 3A

From the pixel 5? Not at all. I can confidently say upgrade from 5 to 7 is also not worth it unless you want a big screen.
How can you "confidently" say this when the 7 hasn't even been released yet?
