Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

That's weird, $85 trade in for a pixel 3 in good condition, but $295 for a pixel 3a with cracked screen.

In any case I'll take it.
Ya, bummer for those of us still with a 3 or 3 XL; I definitely would have jumped on it with $295 trade in value. At $95 I'll just hold off for the Pixel 7

why r people not letting go unlimited storage. get a spare hard disk or get external one and connect to router. besides 3a uploads are not same quality just their compressed high quality.
The only thing i will miss is ability to look up photos instantly on google photos for quick work. my pixel is on its last legs. so i'll have to get a new phone anyways.
It's a free perk that you will never be able to get again on a pixel phone

I was also dismissive of this claim, but...

https://www.techradar.com/news/it...e-huge-way

Regardless, reviews so far say it's not any faster. I actually don't have any issues with mine. It's not super fast, but it's good 95% of the time on the first try. Note: I use a plastic screen protector, not glass. I've also noticed that if you have dry hands, it's significantly worse. Use lotion.
I've also heard non-glass screen protectors are better. For me, it's not about speed, but the successful unlocking. After some update it improved, but nowhere near great. Realistically 55% success rate if I'm being generous. Though any apps that use it for logins, works 99% of the time. Issue is always with unlocking phone

People really give their finger prints away that easily to cell companies?
That's not how it works

Looks like iPhone 7 also has $300 trade in value, but option only gives 256gb? Pretty sure iPhone 7 has lower capacities

Debating if getting a used 3A to trade in is worth

What stops them from saying "oops the trade-in is only worth $50" since the trade-in value is only an "estimate"?
Wouldn't shock me if that ends up happening to everyone. The $300 trade in price has to be an error.

I have Pixel 3a with a broken screen too. But the problem is that screen isn't actually shattered, it simply doesn't light up. It's just black. Phone works because it receives calls and rings. Anyone has experience trading in a phone in this condition? TIA.
the damn thing says is it cracked or does it starts up? just say no. whats worse that could happen. return it if they deny tradin.
