Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

They won't say "it's only worth $50" they'll say "it's only worth $15."

one horror story (of many) [reddit.com]
I dislike the verbiage on the trade-in page where the only option is to accept the price set by Google post inspection (which seems to be Hyla, not Google) or ask them to send back the phone where any damage or lost in transit will not be covered by Google.

Super tempted to trade in my 'fair' condition 3a-xl but not sure if it'll end up in a bait-n-switch once I pay the $450.

Not sure if it was already mentioned but if you've got PayPal and a Discover card, this is a good way to get 5% back on your purchase too.

I have Google Pixel 4A with TMobile with 4 payments left. Wondering if Tmobile will let me trade that in for 6A. Wih the free ear buds the price will be like $50 to upgrade from 4A to 6A, which is totally worth it IMO.

Pixel 6 owner. If there is fingerprint sensor was never updated. Stay away. I have never been so annoyed with the fingerprint. It is not at all reliable and you will regret it.

I was concerned about this as well (trading in a unlocked T-Mobile A71 5G), so I contacted Google Store support before placing my order. I asked: "I just want to know if the trade-in criteria of "Unlocked" is for all "network unlocked" phones or only for "factory unlocked" phones". My phone is unlocked but it is not a "Factory Unlocked" model. Will my phone get the full $300 estimated trade value?"

After the CSR researched for about 6 minutes, she replied: " I have checked with my resources and would like to inform you that there will be no discrepancy and you will get the full refund depending on the condition we received the device as we consider all the carriers as per our trade-in conditions".

I asked her to email me a transcript so I could have it on record. When I placed my order w/trade-in, I made sure to uncheck the "If my phone's condition is different than above, accept its new value" box (see attached screenshot).

The company Google uses is Assurant, who basically handles everyone's trade-ins (Best Buy, Xfinity, T-mobile, etc).
I really enjoy my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G especially because I am in the Samsung ecosystem with Galaxy watch 3, smarttag, Galaxy buds+, Samsung galaxy s6 Lite and a 6.7" screen is more enjoyable. I am hesitant to trade it in. There is so much life in my Samsung. I'm pretty much trading in my Galaxy watch 3 and smarttag as well. The trade-in is nice but I have old iPhone 6s (unlocked) and also a tracfone iPhone se (2nd gen). I would much rather trade in an iphone and keep my Samsung.

I am 2-0 with Hyla but there are definitely lot of horror stories.

If they're giving these values for the Pixel 7 then it's a done deal.

Crazy to read people are trading in Samsung a71 for this gimp
instead they can do trade in for google fi s22 which is discounted already to 300..
they reduced a71 trade in price from 155 to 135 . still thinking to trade in there or not

A71 or A71 5G? The A71 5G was really high earlier. Forget that tradein if it is only $135 for the A71 5G.

Good idea; but I wouldn't go this route. Discover no longer gives the free 1 year extended warranty like they used to. 5% at $450 is $22.50, and I'd rather have the extended warranty from my CC for that price.

Check your Amex, you may have $25 off Google Fi for purchases of $50 or more. In case you want to go that route. Some people reported getting $75 off in Amex credits for the phone purchases, but I cannot confirm that.
