Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

I'm playing the game. At first, I was gonna trade in my perfect condition 4a 5g for $300. But that phone still has value. So I decided to buy a 3a for $65 on ebay (c grade) It says the screen works but just in case I chose the broken screen option on google for $295 trade-in (i think it was worth the $5 and I was able to buy a cheaper phone. The 4a 5g will go to the girlfriend and hopefully get an absurd trade value next year on the 7a.

Google has not had a trade-in deal like this since I purchased the 4a 5g a few years ago. Then I purchased an old samsung and had to fight for the money they promised but they paid up.

I've not had any issues with my 3a XL except the rear fingerprint scanner doesn't work if my finger is remotely moist. But it's starting to feel a bit sluggish and having a waterproof phone would be nice. Tempting but wary about the 6a having any similar problems as the 6...

Awesome deal. My Wife's pixel 3a xl has a cracked screen, mine does not, but they're both getting very slow. With the pixel buds free, were basically upgrading our phones for 50 bucks each. We were already ready to upgrade, this was the perfect deal to bring it home!

I have a 3a collecting dust for a good while after switching to iPhones. $300 trade in is by far the best value I can get out of the 3a but we don't need any more phones in the family. I wonder how much I can get out of reselling everything.

Does "All carriers" in the trade-in mean MVNO as well or just the big name carriers? In the past, I believe they had the "Other" as an option.

I went from 4a5g to the p6 and it felt like a downgrade. Fingerprint reader has finally improved, but it's still so much worse than the physical sensors. I went from 1/10 success to 1/3 now with a 1-2second lag time. The 4a5g always worked instantly.

Your thumb print may be worn out especially if you do a lot of swiping with your right thumb. I also had issues with my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G fingerprint sensor and I do notice my right thumbprint is more worn out than my left. The onscreen fingerprint sensors stink compared to the physical fingerprint sensors. If you have a cold thumb, forget about it recognizing. I tend to use my left thumb to unlock because it simply works better. The Samsung fingerprint sensor definitely works better than 1/3 times though but nowhere near as good as my physical Motorola fingerprint sensors.

You're right, left was better but it was still miles behind the physical sensor. It was just so PERFECT on the 4a5G. Now, it's tolerable at best. Either way, it'll be my last Pixel unless they into or it enough or go back to a physical sensor. It bothered me that much.

Have the Samsung A71 5g... and spec are pretty much the same as 6a (smaller screen)... I don't see a benefit of me upgrading. But anybody who has something a little older... this is a smoking deal.

new lines can be cancelled after a year. old lines should hv been cancelled 90 days prior. for 10 a month it will be like 120 for phone. still good deal.
Even better if you can get an agent to waive the additional line fee Wink

Could be the move haha! At least we have 'til the 27th to decide. Reviews look good overall. I think I will most likely pass because I take thousands of pictures of my dog and don't want to have to pay for storage or move out of Google Photos. I like having the headphone jack and rear fingerprint scanner too. Also I'm currently in a state where I'd have to pay $30 sales tax. I honestly am optimistic they'll offer like $250+ for the 4A 5G when the 7A comes out 😂
I'm also going to play the waiting game. I feel like they can offer a good value for the pixel 4A 5G next year but my device has been overeating crazy outside to a point where if I'm walking in the afternoon I basically cannot use the device. The reviews for the 6A have been largely positive however people have been mentioning that the 60 hertz refresh rate is a bummer and the phone does get hard because of the not so overall snappiness of the tensor chip.

The fingerprint sensor is the biggest con for my Samsung Galaxy A71 5G. It has improved since the first few months but it is still a con. So many times I just swipe up and then just do my gesture because the fingerprint isn't recognized or I don't even want to try. I really like everything else about the phone. Sure the camera isn't on par with the Pixel or iPhone but I liked it. Rear fingerprint sensor is still the best spot I think. Motorola, Pixel 3a and the physical iphone button work really well.

Anyone have any idea why the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is not on the list?
Is there a number or chat I can talk to to see if they'll accept it?
