Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

I've not had any issues with my 3a XL except the rear fingerprint scanner doesn't work if my finger is remotely moist. But it's starting to feel a bit sluggish and having a waterproof phone would be nice. Tempting but wary about the 6a having any similar problems as the 6...
Nope it's got better fingerprint sensor than the 6 and 6 Pro, they improved that for this

Yeah the pixel 3 vs 3a is odd. Was going to get my mom an upgrade til I saw that. Upgrading my 4a 5g. I got it for 350 so getting 300 for it was good with me. Did not see pixel buds in my order when I checked out and completed my order. Did anyone else?
You have to pick them

According to the terms, it looks like you need to maintain the One storage plan at least until you receive the store credit, which is 30 days after the ship date. The terms state:

"Store Credit is granted 30 days after shipment of order and expires 365 days from the grant date. You must be an Eligible Member at the grant date to accrue Store Credits. To earn Store Credit, Eligible Members must complete the cart checkout with their Google One membership account."

An "Eligible Member" is defined as "Google One 200 GB plan managers and 2 TB and above plan managers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia."

https://one.google.com/benefits/8...rce=gstore

Based upon the language, it appears that one would have to pay for two months of the 2TB plan to receive the 10% credit, i.e., $20.

If you're an existing customer and not adding a line that makes no sense given that T-Mobile won't give you anything close to $300 in trade-in for a 3a.
I agree. Google is giving me $300 for a 4a 5G and TMO offered me $65.

Is there anything you have to do to get the buds? I have the 6a in my cart on Google but it doesn't mention anything about the buds, so I guess I just have to hope they come?

Doubt I'd have popped for this but just cracked the screen on my 4a last week (bad enough that it is basically unusable), so getting $262 in trade is hard to pass up.
You take it all the way to check out and it will show you option to add the bud for $0 in your cart before you check out.

Marques Brownlee Review of the Pixel 6a

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsD87v8F914

I think his gripes are legit. I always grade for what you spend on so I will be less forgiving if I paid $450 but this has trade-in value deal mixed in. I really don't care much for the buds as I have a ton of them. I am debating between the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE ($199 Metro deal) and this deal as the top 2 best options to upgrade. There are definitely some cons that I see though. I think I am leaning more towards the Galaxy S21 FE though but I think I will wait to Black Friday.

Do they accept carrier locked iPhones? I went through different docs and didn't see anything specified that they don't.

If the 3a is getting $300 then maybe I can wait another year for the 7a to trade in my 4a5g and hopefully google irons out these issues. Reviews for this one aren't good and so hopefully G realizes pixels aren't really as good a value as before.

Total price for me comes to $482.68, and $300 for the trade-in value. Tempted to upgrade my 3a at this price.
This would be my first google pre-order and trade in, anybody been through the process and can share their experience? I haven't purchased the latest phone since...ever actually lol.
They offered a similar trade in deal and process when they released the Pixel 4a 5g. I traded in my Pixel 2XL and got a great trade-in value of $235. The process was simple to send back and once received and approved they applied a credit back to the credit card I used to purchase.
