Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

I've been a regular paying member of Google One for years, so that wouldn't be the reason for me - which could mean it possibly isn't the reason for you, either.

I won't be chatting until after I receive the phone, but I'll keep you updated.

Take care,

i think for you 10% kicks in from next billing cycle. someone else clarified about this earlier in this thread.

Does Google store limit you to one purchase per Google account?
No, I placed a second order and after it was successfully placed I cancelled the first. I did that for the cashback and Google One store credit - may have been a waste of time for me but idc.

I just bought the Pixel 6a and I am going to trade an iPhone SE (2nd Gen) for $285. I am not completely blown away impressed by the Pixel 6a as I definitely see some cons for me (small 6.1" screen, 60hz, only 128gb storage with no microSD support, only 18 watt fast charge, wireless charging that I don't care for & missing headphone jack that I really don't use.) but it has a lot of PROs, comes at a very good sale price with the trade-in and coming with good quality Pixel buds is the cherry on top. The pixel buds got very good reviews on Amazon. I judge or grade on what the actual cost for the phone was to me and this deal is really good. I use 2 phones so it would be interesting to see if the Pixel can take over my Samsung as the daily driver.

* I really enjoyed the Pixel 3a user interface and the camera so I know that will be big PROs for me. I don't remember having bugs with the Pixel 3a so I am not sure what the bugs about the later Pixel are about.

* I picked the Pixel Buds (Dark Olive) as I think they look really cool in that color. Hopefully they are somewhat near as good as my Samsung Galaxy Buds+.

* Last year I really didn't see many great deals for the Pixel 5a 5G (probably due to the pandemic) so I didn't expect to see a great deal for the Pixel 6a. I am glad that I was wrong. Good job by Google. I had Pixel 6a as #1 on my watch list to upgrade to and with Samsung A series or S21 FE being #2 and Motorola Edge 2021/Stylus 5G 2022/23 being #3.

After do trade in from lot of store, if you want a good trade in value stick with Apple and Samsung. Event the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 only got 100usd on Bestbuy and that phone cost like more than 1k.

I am tempted to trade in a brand new IPhone SE 2nd Gen (Cricket) for $285 while keeping my Pixel 3. What do you all think?
I do it because I have no use for iphone SE and I can use this google phone as a side phone or maybe gift it to a family. Also free buds!

Good to know. My right thumbprint is little bit worn out from swiping on the phone so much that I have been so used to "Fingerprint not recognized" with my Samsung A71 5G. I can definitely see more distinguished fingerprint with my left thumb over my right thumb. Left thumb works better. I hope the Pixel 6a fingerprint sensor works better but I just think optical onscreen fingerprint sensors aren't as good as physical fingerprint sensors that I used in the past with my Pixel 3a, iPhones and Motorola phones. Those phones had very good physical fingerprint sensors and were far better in my experience. I will probably put on a screen protector so that may weaken the onscreen fingerprint sensor performance more.

I have a Pixel 3A and had the Pixel 6 for two days before I returned it... And plan on buying the 6A. On the (6) phone itself, only when on HD voice calls, I heard digital noise whenever anyone said the letter 's'. (seemingly sibilance issue). I have no idea if this was just my unit or not.
On an old car, Bluetooth phone call audio was very distorted, unless I disabled media audio on the phone side. Other Bluetooth devices were okay. This car works fine with my 3a. At home, the fingerprint reader may have been a tad slow, but it was okay. Trying it in the car, was more of an issue. Maybe I could have taken more fingerprints at a slightly different angle for the car mount.. I don't know. During the two days, I once had an issue where it would not send or receive phone calls, while data did work. I needed to restart the phone. My SmartWatch disconnects at a closer distance than my 3A. Turning off 90 HZ, it didn't seem noticeable enough to me, for what I do. Maybe if I did a side-by-side, or use 90 Hertz for longer, it would be more of an issue for me. Regarding the pixel buds a, I want to use them mostly for a phone calls ... inside an office, not car. I hate the ear plug feeling of most earbuds.. and the lack of side tone. as well, most start making the inside of my ears sore. I'm hoping, based upon reviews, these would seem to be better for my use case. I have no idea if they have side tone, but at least if I can hear myself through the headphones, it would be okay. As well, I'm thinking of using one earbud at a time for both this reason and for power conservation, due to the low battery life.

I already have a pair of the pixel buds and they're terrible.
Curious why you say that? I'm getting the buds, but I already have cheap BT earbuds that work very well and the battery lasts forever so I'm not sure what I'd be gaining by switching to the Pixel buds. I think it would be better to sell them new and unopened, though the market will probably be flooded after this.

Not sure I'd chance a cracked phone for $30 on ebay, especially when they need to verify the factory reset. Haven't seen any functioning $30 3As for that price.

They definitely are targeting the middle level phone user with this trade in offer, wanting to grab the pixels A user and the iPhone SE user
