Why does everyone care so much if someone is vegan or uses common terminology to describe a food. It's not your life or choice so?

Wow. Can't remember the last time so many people got upset over something that has zero quantifiable impact on their lives, and is even FREE. Could always just move onto the the next thread folks.

Thanks for posting OP, much more likely to try something different that is free.

Vegans are the ones going crazy here? Are you serious? Based on this thread, it seems like it's the non-vegans who have gone "crazy" since they were the first to start throwing a fit about their precious "milk" and "cream" definitions.

Hi everyone. This thread is for the free vegan ice cream- it's availability, comments on the product itself and about the item in the OP. We've cleaned up the off topic and if you feel we've missed any, feel free to mod alert it.

Thanks

Great question that has no good answer. Just makes vegans go crazy. Vegan burger is not a burger. It's a vegan sandwich. it's ridiculous to call it a burger.

I'm not vegan, but duh. The reason you call it ice cream is to sell more of the stuff. Even if it is technically not ice cream, people generally know what you are offering if you call it ice cream. Like an air fryer.. not really frying at all. It's more like a convection toaster, but that wouldn't sound so cool.

Stuff has names for a reason to simplify life so we don't have to describe everything. You make new stuff you make new names. And I like fried cauliflower but guess what it's called fried cauliflower not cauliflower wings. It actually sounds gross calling it cauliflower wings

This frozen vegan stuff may be tasty but it's not icecream. Frozen dessert is the correct term. The next time you stoll down the icecream section of your grocery store, read some of the labels. You may be surprised by how many "icecream" containers that are actually labeled frozen dessert. It is the same way with some cheese. Kraft singles are actually labeled as "cheese food".

Here is an article discussing the difference between icecream and frozen dessert 🍨.

Excellent post. I used to work for a company that was required to change its labeling because they called their new cookie sandwich creams, that looked like a vanilla Oreo. There was no actual cream in the filling, so they had to change the spelling from sandwich cream to sandwich creame. Their version of creame was sugar, vanilla flavoring and a mix of oils.

Vegan ice cream? Does it mean frozen water???

Ice cream from definition means frozen cream. Cream is made from milk. Milk is not vegan.

Vegan ice cream does not exist. As the same way there is not beef lettuce or chicken carrot.
It exists to the extent that coconut milk and almond milk exist.

Milk can come from plants, and it's been used for centuries since dragons lived - ever heard of Milk of the Poppy. ??
