Wow. Can't remember the last time so many people got upset over something that has zero quantifiable impact on their lives, and is even FREE. Could always just move onto the the next thread folks.

Vegans are the ones going crazy here? Are you serious? Based on this thread, it seems like it's the non-vegans who have gone "crazy" since they were the first to start throwing a fit about their precious "milk" and "cream" definitions.

It's interesting that this promo says it is for free "ice cream" because the actual packaging says it is "frozen non-dairy dessert." A lot of stuff in the freezer aisle actually is "frozen dairy dessert" because it doesn't qualify to be "ice cream" -- even stuff with milk in it like Breyers etc. (for example: https://www.breyers.com/us/en/pro...cream.html). Notice how Breyers doesn't use the word "ice cream" anywhere for that product.

Vegan ice cream does not exist. As the same way there is not beef lettuce or chicken carrot.

If you get the basic flavor (chocolate, vanilla) of Breyer it is labeled icecream.

Nasty fake ice cream. Seriously,they make this from corn and potatoes, so not really a healthy choice because of all the starch. Probably better off just eating regular ice cream unless you can't handle the milk.

The problem with these products is price. I have zero loyalty to animal based anything. But I'm not going to spend a premium to have a likely inferior tasting product.

Vegan means products derived entirely animal free. So no animal product and no product that an animal produces like milk or eggs. Vegetarian is more loose in that it's simply not eating meat, but using animal byproducts is fine.

I think his take was fair on that one. I have some vegan friends and none of them are doing it specifically for the environmental impact, that's just a bonus to them. I was a vegetarian for a long time but I currently eat meat. I have a dairy problem so I embrace all these plant based dairy alternatives. Basically this thread just seems like a bunch of people upset that the world is changing and they want to let you know that.
