Why does everyone care so much if someone is vegan or uses common terminology to describe a food. It's not your life or choice so?

Wow. Can't remember the last time so many people got upset over something that has zero quantifiable impact on their lives, and is even FREE. Could always just move onto the the next thread folks.

Thanks for posting OP, much more likely to try something different that is free.

Vegans are the ones going crazy here? Are you serious? Based on this thread, it seems like it's the non-vegans who have gone "crazy" since they were the first to start throwing a fit about their precious "milk" and "cream" definitions.

What terrible packaging. It literally screams "fake 1970-80's brand'.

What are you talking about? This has been banned since the 60's for all animals.
Has been banned in pork but not beef. Pork is not allowed to have "no added hormones" on the package unless it also states "because federal regulation prohibits added hormones in any pork" or something like that. This is so companies can't just slap it on their label to lead consumers into thinking other peek may have it. But beef is different

...and why you can try it for $0 net cost...

The problem with these products is price. I have zero loyalty to animal based anything. But I'm not going to spend a premium to have a likely inferior tasting product.

If there were stores near me I would. It's not a comment on the deal. It's a comment on the product. Same situation for all these plant based things.

Inferior tasting? You seem biased. It's also subjective. And it's free of pus, antibiotics, blood, etc. No cows were harmed in the process either. This alone should be the reason for the switch.

That's flatly false. You are confusing antibiotics.

Not sure what you mean

Hormones are NOT allowed in hog, poultry, or bison production. The statement "no hormones added" CANNOT be used on any packaging for pork and/or poultry items, unless it is followed by a statement that says "Federal regulations prohibit the use of hormones in poultry/pork" (Meat and poultry labeling terms, 2011; Labels that tell you a little, n.d.), so as not to mislead consumers into believing that these meat protein products were grown with additional hormones.

For other meat production animals, the term "no hormones administered" may be approved for use on the label if there is sufficient documentation indicating the producer has raised the animal without additional hormones (Meat and poultry labeling terms, 2011).
it also mentions antibiotics

No Antibiotics
Is also referred to as "raised without antibiotics" or "no antibiotics administered". The term "no antibiotics added" may be used on labels for meat and/or poultry products if the producer can provide sufficient documentation indicating the animal was raised without antibiotics (Meat and poultry labeling terms, 2011; Labels that tell you a little, n.d.). This indicates that no antibiotics were used on the animal in its lifetime. Antibiotics are used to prevent and treat disease in animals – just like in humans. If an animal does have to be treated with an antibiotic for illness, the meat, milk, and/or eggs cannot be sold in an organic or naturally raised system and cannot have a label with the wording "raised without antibiotics" (Meat and poultry labeling terms, 2011).
even going directly to the FDA says that it has been APPROVED since the 1950s. https://www.fda.gov/animal-veteri...ng-animals

Quote :
Since the 1950s, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a number of steroid hormone drugs for use in beef cattle and sheep, including natural estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and their synthetic versions. These drugs increase the animals' growth rate and the efficiency by which they convert the feed they eat into meat.

It's about as important as nutrition and ingredient information on food packaging. It there to help consumers make informed decisions 🤔 😉 about what they are eating. Companies make great effort to deceive consumers. That's why agencies like the FDA exist. Standards for using certain food term had to be established for the public good.

Why are there so many people angry about a company giving away a free product? Some of you need to pick better hills to die on. It's a free product, no one is forcing you to receive it, if you don't like it you can just ignore this thread. Get a day job lol.

That said, I see that there's a grocer that stocks this "ice cream" near my house, so I might try it out. Thanks for posting!

Anyone actually got this for free? I'm trying to see what they had to go through to get it and if it's even worth it?
