Benchmarks for the new RTX 4090 are starting to come out and there's a 70% increase in performance over the 3090. I think these tests are synthetic so some grain of salt to that claim but wow. I cannot see myself spending money on a 3-series card if the 4-series are going to have such a significant boost in performance.
Also, be careful of returning these cards. They all have the 4 free games attachment. So even if the cards drop further, you can't just return it and get your money back. They'll give you the differences for the games. And guess what? The games are valued (according to them) at $120.
Unless of course if they can do a price adjustment or your credit card has price protection.

I could be wrong but I don't see Nvidia releasing new cards with this much 3000 series stock out there still, they will take a bath. I'd be really surprised if we see nvidia 4000 by summer 2023. The wattage on these cards are insane too, with the price of electricity these days you'd likely have to underclock the cards as well so your vid card doesnt cost 40-50/month to run alone. Pretty sure a fridge uses less power than 600w these days.

who will buy those cards when amd releases their new ones, plus the used market in september. No they have maybe 1-2 months to clear this or that is it. Amd can't work with Nvidia on this w/o impact themselves either, and honestly you start getting a lot of attention if they work together on that possibly even legal. All this weird speculation. Jays' to cents etc. You don't need to spend 800 on a gpu. that's never a deal. Plenty of alternatives. What you ask get a 6600/6700 and upgrade later or get a console. 800 for a gpu now that's 25% faster for 2x the cost will depreciate by 3-400 in a few months is pretty costly gaming.
If you need an excuse to buy just do it. but it's not a deal. It's two year old tech. you can get something better if you wait just a bit that will last you far longer. It doesn't matter at all. Raise prices... good luck. try it. nobody will buy.
