I can say this, in my opinion - whatever you do... wait for the 4000 series or not, just make sure you get 32GB of ram. I checked and usually for me without closing programs all-in-all I usually sit right at 19gb of ram usage - 16GB isn't what it used to be. *Also with Lenovo, if it comes standard as part of the build, it will ship faster than a customized laptop where they must upgrade the ram so when you order expect a delay if you customize your own build (even if it's just ram and nothing else). No matter what, you're always going to see something just a little better a week or two later, never regret it just expect it!

I think Microsoft should discourage 8GB and refuse to provide updates etc.
16GB for non gamer (zoom, Outlook, word, excel) is a must. Recently my work laptop has been slowing down with 16Gb. 3 years ago it was doing great.
Replaced an Acer Predator with 2070 max-Q with this and loving it so far. I don't care about the most perfect graphics so I should be set for several years. 4000 series will most likely be beyond anything in my price range for that amount of time anyway.

Time Spy score compares to about a full sized desktop 3070

Check Mozilla vs chrome, chrome is the worst as far as Ram usage.

The os tends to use whatever there is so having a usage of over 16gb does not mean you would see any difference in gaming actually.
