Just purchased and posted the i7 deal on here the other day and it looks like the price of this i5 model came down since I was looking earlier on in the week 40% off for these specs and the potential to upgrade components seems like a strong offer.

HP says "Yes, you can upgrade the RAM (and SSD) but we recommend using a trained technician due to the proximity to the Li-ion battery."

Yes, ram and harddrive are upgradable and it is pretty simple. Only thing to be careful is the screws are very small to open the laptop and holding the nvme. Ram doesn't have any screws just a metal plate on top. I stripped one of the m2 screws holding to hard drive and it became very hard to take it out.
Also plastic strips under the body doesn't have any screws under them unlike previous models. I also took them out but they were superglued and some parts were broken.
For me(not close to professional) it took about 4 hours to replace both ram and nvme, but with my current knowledge, now I can do it in 20mins.

There are a lot of videos online about how to open up an x360.

This model is refreshed last month and has different body. None of the videos show this specific model and that confused me about the plastic strips under laptop.

I looked at the previous X360 offering and when I researched it, pretty much everything was ok but the display. The color quality was seriously dinged. Basically they said if you do any photography or video work, this wasn't the display for it?

Obviously not sure exactly what x360 offering you are referring to, but this one should be pretty good for color accuracy. It has an IPS panel at 400nits. I will say I have learned that the units with "EVO" processors typically have better panels to fully support the integrated Intel graphics. Might be worth going into a store to see if this is right for you though.

The negative on this one is the lack of a numeric 10 key, if you don't need that, solid deal.

The I7 version said it was 400 nits. I don't see anything on this model saying it is 400? I ended up ordering the i7 open box model. Thanks
