Good for you, glad to hear you have a target price in mind and are sticking to it!

Looking at Ryzen 9 3900x on eBay, New condition, lowest buy it now price is $350.

Hope this processor is still fashionable fast when you eventually get it for sub-$300.

That $32.49 difference in savings over the Prime deal on July 13th will have been well worth it.

I caved and got a 5900x price matched with Amazon from Best Buy for $360 will pair nicely with the 3080ti I was able to pick up on swappa for $675. Upgrading from a 2700x and 3060ti

I caved and got a 5900x price matched with Amazon from Best Buy for $360 will pair nicely with the 3080ti I was able to pick up on swappa for $675. Upgrading from a 2700x and 3060ti

the new coming cpu will not be on the am4 platform. 5000 series is the last cpu that supports am4 and ddr4. if you want the latest one, just know you need to spend a pretty penny for the new mb, ram, and cpu

also, 5000 series is recommended over 3000 due to the increase in ipc performance. in other words, it is way faster in single core and multicore performance over 3000

Oh sure. When I posted this 2 weeks ago for the same price it got no upvotes lol. I bought for 332 on prime day. It's a great CPU, passmarks about 42000 in my system. As good as the 12900kf at 150 dollars cheaper and far far far better than similar priced 12700kf. Which passmarks at 36000

Anyone think they'll ever do a 5900X3D or a 5950X3D? I wanna milk AM4 for all she's got. I usually pass my CPUs down to my kids so I'm trying to stick to the same platform so we can all upgrade at the same time.
