I bought both the Costco model, and the one sold at other stores.
-The CF301 uses a twist knob to choose sizes. The Costco XL one uses buttons. Clock is on the CF301 knob and looks nicer. The LEDs on the screen disappear on CF301 where most are always labeled on the XL.
-10oz bigger tank on the Costco model.
-Costco model comes with a permanent filter, CF301 doesn't.
-The biggest change is that the Costco model does not have the hot water separate knob near the scoop holder. This bypasses the coffee filter for clean hot water. It may even use a separate spout.
The CF301 is slightly nicer asthetically to me. If you wouldn't use the hot water feature of the CF301 model, they are similar enough that the XL is the better value.
my fiance really wanted a ninja and ordered 12cup with kcup compatibility for 159 from best buy. thisone has all of that plus the frother. for 30 cheaper. seems like a great deal

The CF301 is more sleek and has more features, but that $119 price on the XL is quite nice.
