5600 if you have a gpu, 5600g if you dont.
Great general purpose CPU with sufficient graphics muscle for light gaming, multi 4k monitor setups, or 3D productivity work.
5600 has PCIE4, this 5600G does not.

Could someone recommend a mid-range ITX MB, around $150?

I tried to upgrade a customized Intel i5 7400 ITX system for families. It has been paired with a MSI B250i gaming board(I recalled) for dual monitors, light eSport gaming, browsing, and streaming for 5 years. This AMD 5600G seems perfect for the upgrade since I can use the old DDR4, HDD/SSD, and throw in a new Samsung Gen4 1TB M2. Always use the onboard graphics in the old system.

I did a quick search. is GIGABYTE B550I AORUS PRO AX good? I am not familiar with AMD, used to be on Intel.

Thanks in advance.

FYI the 5600G does NOT support PCIE 4.0. This means your gen 4 nvme drive will be running at PCIE 3.0 speed.

It also creates problems for certain GPUs like the RX 6400 and RX 6500, and performance can decline 20% when on PCIe 3.0 instead of 4.0 or 5.0

Man, so I just bought the 5600 to replace my 1700 on my B350. I was also looking forward to upgrading my 8GB RX480 when the new gen cards come out this fall. Am I just going to be bleeding performance because of the B350 platform? I'm guessing my dual channel RAM at 2667Mhz is also ass...lol

The 5600G came out over a year ago, while the 5600 came out three months ago and is packing newer tech. If you have your own video card and like to game, obviously get the 5600.

Is the 5700G also limited to PCI 3?

This card is only for people who will never get a graphics card it's only for integrated system don't ever think about upgrading
I might add it would require less power to run, not having that 3 fan GPU disiapting those houndres of watts heat.

It is easy for me to see that if you are never going to game, why not go this route. A 65 watt CPU/GPU seems a lot more reasonable if you are re-using cases and power supplys from 5-10yrs ago.. PCI3 nvme drives are discounted and memory is still relitivly cheap while we are on the cusp of ddr5 on the next gen Mother Boards and CPU's. Down side is... Its not the newest hardware.. Arg IDK.. If your upgrading your old system.. Or want to sell your GPU now while you might get a premium price.. well that is another good reason too..

No, unless you decide to go severely backward on your graphics ram. Even a 3080 would barely be constrained by pci-e 1.0, assuming a 16x slot. SSDs need the later pci-e revisions because they run off much narrower connections and don't have a massive pool of ram on board like a graphics card does.
