Maryland's is the 14-22 Aug.
MD tax free week is very limited. No computers or tech tools are eligible. 😡
From the state website
"What items will be eligible for tax-free purchase during Shop Maryland week? Certain clothing, footwear and accessories are eligible. Examples of tax-free clothing and footwear are sweaters, shirts, slacks, jeans, dresses, robes, underwear, belts, shoes and boots priced at $100 or less. The first $40 of a backpack/bookbag purchase is tax-exempt. A more detailed list is available on the Comptroller's Web site and in taxpayer service offices throughout Maryland.
Are any other items eligible for tax-free purchase during the tax-free period?
The Maryland General Assembly has only designated clothing, footwear and backpacks/ bookbags as eligible items for this August tax-free. "

I think what makes these tax- free days or weeks frustrating for many people is because of all the little details. It is easily to be misled so many people say it's not worth their time to play detective or some people don't have the time to dig through all of the small print.
If you have the time, check your state government web-site. That should be the most updated with all of the rules, exceptions, disqualifications, etc.

In Florida, the limit is $1500 or less when purchasing a computer. What are you trying to buy?

Florida
Sales tax holiday period is July 25–August 7, 2022.

To qualify for the tax exemption, the purchase must be made during the sales tax holiday period by an individual for personal use with a price of $1500 or less. Computers (including iPad) and computer accessories qualify for this holiday.

Please visit the Florida Department of Revenue website for complete terms and conditions:

I always take the 90 min road-trip to no-sales-tax DE to get my larger Apple purchases.

Waiting until the back to school promo covers the gas and time (and I'm like Santa Claus when I bring the gear back to the family because this *is* Christmas for them. Nothing more coming in Dec, the wad is blown).

P.S. - I'm also using me and my wife's Apple Cards for the 3% back and the installment plan.
For Apple Card, is it possible to get both 3% and installment in together?

Make sure to read your State's official page for tax exempt items during tax holidays. Some state don't include laptops and other electronic item.

Why do only 8 states have Back To School Sales Tax holiday? Why can't all states participate in this?
