Looks like a great deal on a solid, complete, and very heavy set. Legit, great reviews, made in Taiwan rather than China, price history shows $150-180, with a brief low of $140. Thanks OP. Purchased a set.

Main gripes about this set seem to be... size markings not laser etched so they'll wear off or get covered by dirt eventually, stamped markings also, but they're somewhat small and difficult to read, metric sockets only go up to 24mm, case may need an additional pad inside to keep contents secure when case is closed, very large and heavy set, so not easily portable.

Update... just received my set. Seems to be excellent quality. Nice grippy texture, and the markings are laser etched, not painted... or at least they don't scrape off with my pocket knife.the ratchet wrench seems decent enough. About 70 clicks per rotation if that means anything.

Good summary and I will also add many users mentioned they received two of one sized socket resulting in a missing size. I had this happen with a similar set I purchased from Gearwrench 4-5 years ago. Anyone who purchases this set (or any socket set) should go through each socket size immediately after receiving to check for duplicates and/or missing sizes.

Another commenter complained his set started to show signs of rust. Well these sockets are not chrome plated so if your in a humid or damp environment I would expect to see rust on them. You can eliminate the humidity or keep a thin layer of oil on them in storage to help prevent rust. Easy enough to do.

Also a few complaints about the ratchet failing but looking at the pictures they posted looks like cheater bar issues! I have never seen an impact set like this that includes a ratchet. Just keep in mind that even though it may have impact ready hardened steel on the outside the gears in the ratchet are typical steel I would assume. All in all however it seems like a great buy.

You mean deep and shallow sockets? Sometimes you need a deep socket, especially if working with nuts. As the nut threads onto a bolt eventually the protruding bolt might be longer than the depth of a shallow socket and will prevent you from being able to completely tighten the bolt.

So why not have only deep sockets then? Because for certain things, especially working on cars, space can be tight and sometimes there is simply not enough room for a deep socket to get in there

Looks like a really great deal. Was trying to wait for a cr-mo set but this might be too good to pass up. Full sae and metric set with a universal adapter and extensions. Basically no warranty but at this price you'll still come out ahead of any other set even if you break the few you use most and have to rebuy some singles

Anyone use impact sockets as their regular wrench socket set? Or does the extra thickness make them not work well for everyday manual wrench sockets?

Great summary ... thanks! However, the product page and at least two reviews I read said the sockets are etched. One reviewer said the etching is on the back side.

This is solid. I purchased the Milwaukee 3/8 set a few weeks ago for ~100 dollars. It was missing a few sizes and gave you things like an 8mm socket that you'd really never use an impact on. So worthless pieces and things like a 21mm socket was missing.

This has a lot more for the $ and the ratchet is a nice touch to save you from having to sling out the socket set too when the impact can't fit.
