I'm one to always shop price per oz to get the best deal. But a few things about tuna in cans and pouches… first, have you ever looked at the serving size in calories for a pouch and a can? Even though the can is a couple more ounces, they are both the same amount of actual tuna at about 70 cal per serving in either container. The extra ounces in a can is the water or oil, so price per ounce doesn't really match up here because you're figuring out (and paying for) the weight of the water in the can. If you use the liquid for other things, it's probably worth it… otherwise you're literally pouring those "savings" down the drain as you empty the water in the sink. It confused me for a while until I realized this. If I can get these packets for $1 or less I grab them.

Second, I drive a truck and these pouches are very convenient to rip open and squeeze in a packet of mayonnaise, mix it up and eat straight from the pouch or try to put on some bread for a sandwich. If this happens to cost a few more cents per ounce than a can, it's one instance I'll gladly pay more for the convenience rather than have to use a can opener and drain the water.
I been eating star kist forever.. never got a scale..
You can't eat Albacore too often due to their high mercury levels. Skipjack or regular tuna is not as tasty but better for you overall.

Are these packets free of scales? I bought cans a few years back. They all had fish scales, which is disgusting.

Never can tell these days. I will say that pouch tuna tastes a lot better than canned. Cleaner and fresher tasting. Although I would never buy light. solid white albacore only for me.

I got the Skip Jack deal a little while back and wish I stocked up on more. If you like the taste of Subway or Blimpe tuna sandwiches, its what they use I'm pretty sure... the pouches are awesome to open a small hole and squeeze out all the water before mixing...

Convenience at the high price of 27 cents per ounce for light tuna may be slick for some. 8-15 cents per ounce for light tuna in cans is the regular price.

Albacore has higher mercury levels, chunk light is safer than albacore.

Did they finally fix it where you can't do multiple subs of the same item to get the 15% off?
