Nice find OP! just picked up from Dallas store. lowest price i've seen for Ryzen 7 5700G. Beast of CPU + GPU especially at 65W TDP for the price.

Wow! available in Tustin. in for 1. any suggestions on good AM4 MB to pair with this? looks like you can get another $20 savings from MicroCenter if pair with MB makes deal even slicker!

Same question on suggestion for MB to pair with this CPU. Planning on doing mostly coding and some light gaming, ideally microATX build.

It seems like the AMD g-series gets dinged because they don't offer the same price to performance for gaming as the 5600, but I think people forget that not everyone wants to have to invest in a GPU and a g-series AMD will be a great fit for those who maybe don't want to play intensive games but want a powerful CPU and have a decent experience with integrated graphics.

The cache could make a difference in some titles. But I think the biggest downfall is that the 5700G is limited to PCIe 3.0. So if you do pair it with certain GPUs, like the 6500 XT, that can leave performance on the table.

Motherboards were scarce and typically expensive at my Micro Center when I got my 5700G in December. I found an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II open box that went down to $64 (counting the $20 off deal, which you should mention at the register to double check). I had to flash it with a new BIOS so it would support Zen 3 CPUs like the 5700G.

Nice option if you want to have integrated graphics to fall back on when you're trying to time GPU purchasing. I sold my 3070 for a ton a couple months ago, waiting on 4070 before buying another GPU.

Not worried about PCIE3, barely makes a difference for 4K gaming.

Stay away from boards with i225v nics. Those things are trouble.

Last fall I ended up going with an asus tuf b550 plus gaming wifi.
