Made the post because I am torn between this and the 10" Skil. Not worried about the dado as much as I am the plastic rack and pinion. Anyone with long term once a week experience with the Skil? Also if used both, which has more grunt?

I bought this dewalt last year when it was on special buy. Nice little saw. The 8.25" blade wasn't an issue for the projects I was doing. The stand was a different story. Really awkward to set up and break down. You have to tip the saw up on 2 legs that are only held by a little button. And once you have the saw upright, moving it is not easy.

Thx. Decided I'd rather not deal with the bulky cart. So went with the skil. Lowe's has it for $300 right now if anyone cares.

I'm late to the party but the 10" Dewalts are known as the best value in bench top saws, and Skil is not known at all except maybe as a fungible entry level saw. So I'd think if you don't need to make cuts above 2.5 inches deep or whatever, the Dewalt is a better option.

Yeah I wish I wasn't so cheap. I'd buy the 10" DeWalt. Just don't have space for it, and have to buy something with legs/cart. My order is delayed. If by chance I see the DeWalt on sale again before they ship I'll cancel the Skil and order it. Thx for info.
