What is distressed inventory?
Every once in a while, we overstock an item, and it ends up sitting in our warehouse for longer than we'd like. When that happens, we take some of the mattresses out of the box and let them decompress to see how they're doing. Some of the mattresses we took out of the box didn't decompress as much as they should, so the overall performance and comfortability aren't as consistent as we'd like.
What does that mean for you?
When you buy a distressed inventory mattress, that means the mattress isn't perfect and the performance and comfortability vary from item to item. However, you're also getting a great deal on one of our most popular mattresses. We do not accept refunds or returns on items sold as is. All sales are final.

I bought several mattresses two years ago that were tightly rolled up and sealed. The manufacturer is owned by a friend of the family. He explained how revolutionary the process is and how the mattresses would be shipped for far less money but expand perfectly upon arrival. Well, they didn't. Apparently they sat on the truck for too long and all of the mattresses did not fully expand in the corners. We got such a good deal on them, and being sent from a friend, we did not say anything. But that's the last time I'll buy a mattress that comes rolled up. I absolutely believe that some of these mattresses may not fully expand just like what happened to the corners of my mattresses.
Bed in a box can, and will degrade over (much) time. Coils want to be decompressed back to their natural state. That said, a good hybrid with individual pocketed coils will only show minor, and targeted defects, even in worst case scenarios. Think of it as you might a TV, wherein one pixel blows instead of a whole panel.
Innerspring with typical interlocked coils? "Pillow tops" made from rejected cotton balls? Couldn't pay me enough to go back to that ancient, dated garbage. Technologies change. Some people's opinions don't simply because they don't try new things.
This is probably a safe/good buy, but because it's only an 8" mattress, don't expect top tier quality.
We bought a Zinus mattress like this through their EBay store. They offered 6", 8", and 10". Similar prices: under $100 for rolled shrink wrapped hybrid (spring/foam) mattresses that were in inventory for too long. We bought a Zinus Biofusion (high end product) 10" twin for $44 to supplement a crib in our nursery, and allow for mommy and baby naps. It opened fine and is softer than a Zinus 13" king euro top hybrid mattress that we have in our bedroom. Now that kids are bigger we have the twin and a $200 Zinus dream pillowtop hybrid 10" full mattress side by side. Compared to the full mattress, the distresssed mattress is softer overall, just slightly shorter (not the full 10"), and has extra soft edges and corners.
I got my 8" queen size mattress delivered today and its actually 10" mattress delivered. The mattress opened fine and I don't see any issue so far on day 1.

At this price, this is amazing! I tried sleeping on both sides and don't see any issue. I am sure it will take a couple of days to decompress completely but its already perfect right now too. There is nothing wrong with it, smells like new too.

Did you measure the thickness? It's 10"?

Mine too was delivered also a 10" and the box looked unopened and brand new. Plan on decompressing it tonight.
Beware! I ordered a mattress and then checked the reviews on amazon and got scared of bedbug infestation so I tried to cancel the order after 20 minutes through eBay cancellation request. But they sent me a message saying that the order is already shipped. So they are honest that there is absolutely no cancellation. So for some reason they must sell these. Hopefully it's not because of bedbugs

I think they are having an extremely large blow out sale, looking in my email, I see 4,097 remaining, looking at the eBay page, I see 1, 786 sold = 5,882 total. Wonder if that's just Queen or across all sizes.
Looking at the size of the box, that's an extremely large warehouse.
I wonder if placing 5K units on the market will have a knock on effect or if that's just a drop in the ocean, I found the shop prices of $250 and up were just to crazy for me to bite.
I wonder if they will drop the price more to shift the other 4k units
Someone mentioned bed bugs. In order to get the mattress to fit in a box, they probably suck out all the air, everything needs air, so I don't see how any bed bugs would even survive.

The box is heavy and from the looks of it, it looks like its been thrown about.
