So how does this work? The link seemingly is just to the app in the Galaxy store. Can I install this on my Pixel for free XM?

Same question, I already have the app installed (inactive) and I don't see how to activate the 6 months advertised in the app description. Confused

Beware they call you often AND send a lot of expiration notices in the mail before your free month expires. If you have unknown callers silenced or go straight to voice mail no big deal but not a fan of junk mail and the random calls.

I can second the junkmail thing. I signed up for the free 3 mo free trial at the beginning of the year and before it ended i got tons of mail asking to renew. Once it was over and i cancelled I have still been receiving mail from them almost every other week asking me to rejoin, and its been like 6 months now. Ugh

For this very reason when I had XM, I paid with their gift cards. For everything you do with them, they always want a credit card on file. Their biggest money maker (in my opinion), is that they are counting on you to forget about the freebies expiration so it lapse's over to their non discounted monthly (like $12/month) and that's how they recoup their costs.

It is $25 a month if you get Howard Stern, something like $20/month if you don't and no, that's not how they make money. The reason why they keep giving you freebees is for number of subs to sell advertising. If they have ten million subs, they can tell that to potential advertisers to demand more than if they have 1 million subs. The money they make from subscriptions is just icing on the cake, but their bulk comes from ad revenue, and they can't afford to lose subscribers which is why they always let you stay for practically nothing if you complain enough. This last time they asked for $8/month from me and I said $5/month or no deal, they let me walk. A week later I got an offer for 3 free months.

They need you more than you need them. Same concept as newspapers and magazines.
