You might be in a recession when Xmas is starting to go on clearance in July.

For $15 I may chuck this thing on the porch and cross my fingers that the snow doesn't kill it.

Neither answer is wrong — there is a large-scale inventory purge going on in the retail world right now. So we should see a lot more than just your average price cuts. If it's a leftover, this tree should have moved in January, so my guess is it's part of a purchase order for 2022 and Walmart is just getting aggressive earlier than usual.

GDP shrunk again as of this morning's report. Hopefully it'll be mild and short.

Serious question: Why do companies choose to use incandescent lights for pre-lit Christmas trees? Are these old stock they're trying to get rid of or is it cheaper for these manufacturers to source incandescent?

From what I read on a WM message board, the supply chain issues delayed a lot of holiday items from getting to stores on-time in 2021. All of these sales we have been seeing recently may be store inventory they need to get rid of before receiving the newer stuff for this year.

We bought the white one last year for $25. It does look really nice for the price.
