As someone whose owned a few OLED and QLED TVs, I wouldn't blindly make recommendations without knowing their viewing habits. I prefer OLED personally, but I hate how Dolby Vision looks on my B9 and a80j. HDR content pops more on my Hisense and TCL TVs and it does better in well lit rooms.

The real advantage OLEDs have is near perfect blacks and superior viewing angles. Newer VA panels can get 85% of the way there in the contrast department but also provide much brighter panels.

The best of both worlds is if you have the new Samsung OLEDs but those are about 800-1K more expensive right now.

I'll play devil's advocate and say I did not like my U8G. It had really bad crushed blacks and I had all sorts of issues with HDMI 2.1. I returned it for the TCL which unfortunately has it's own issues. Hisense really needs to work on ironing out their software and firmware issues but their hardware is generally solid.

Hopefully the upcoming U8H will fix all of these issues but people have been complaining about the same issues since the H9G.

Won't arrive until 9/11 (via Amazon) so thinking I should order now, think about it and cancel if I change my mind. Should be easy to cancel with delivery not expected until 9/11 right?

Anyone else with this set and a ps5 experience ghosting issues as noted by rtings? Their mention of this excerpted below:

Update 08/16/2021: We took another look at the red ghosting issue with this TV, trying different content from different sources. It's clearly present with some content, like The Crown, and we also noticed it in Daredevil. It's not noticeable in all content but seems to be more noticeable in warmer scenes. We also checked a few games on a PS5. In Call of Duty, we didn't notice any ghosting, but in Astro's Playground, it was really bad, with terrible ghosting everywhere.

Astro's Playground 1
Astro's Playground 2
Astro's Playground 3
Astro's Playground 4
The issue appears to vary between units, as some people online have reported TVs with no ghosting at all, whereas other people have reported serious ghosting in all content. Compared to our H9G, it's not as bad, but this could just be unit variance.

Update 09/08/2021: We checked the red ghosting on our unit with the latest firmware, and found that nothing changed.

Search youtube for red ghosting fix, there is an update that is not automatically applied but only for the 65". I tried it and red ghosting is fixed but only on the 65.

I ended up moving to an oled though because on less than 4k content the picture quality is still that of watching an LCD screen, kind of washed out and not sharp, this set really benefits from an nvidia shield as it's upscaling is not great..By the time you buy this and an nvidia shield you are so close to the sale price of an oled I would just wait for an oled, unless you are determined to watch things with static images and or use it as a computer monitor, things oled doesn't like.

They will give you an updated delivery date later which could be shorter. Whenever I bought item said that delivery could be a month and later on they updated my date I get it the next 4-5 days

Bought a U7G for my dad back in February. Still have a sound issue where it just cuts out. Need to unplug TV or reset settings before sound randomly cuts out again. Hisense support has not been helpful. Regret buying this TV, have never had an issue like this with other brands I have bought in the past.

I bought this last year for 899. I do not do gaming on it. It has a great picture and really is a great TV. This is a Chinese owned company and they really want you to connect and they monitor all viewing and everything you do so beware of that.

I have this TV and I wouldn't recommend. The screen is good but it's buggy as hell. Since the last update audio cuts out randomly for like 15 seconds every half hour or so. They are aware of the issue but have still but released a fix.

Also since the last update I've had to switch to Ethernet because it's stopped accepting my WiFi password.

People report all sorts of issues with 120hz

Rtings made it seem like the upscaling on this was good. Is that not the case in your experience?

I have had this TV for 6 months. I have it connected to a Denon receiver. My audio randomly cuts out when using the native apps. I now use a firestick for my apps and have not had any issues.
