Went to Home Depot today to pick up one of these.
Their website said they had 16 in stock. Not even close. Only one was in stock, behind some other buckets, so I had to look hard to find it.
It's smaller than the dimensions on the website by a lot (but that much is obvious--a 23.5 in tall bucket would be impractical to use). That said, the actual dimensions are much smaller than my older Rubbermaid bucket. It measures roughly 12in L x 11in W x 9in H not including the spouts and the handle.
I picked it up anyway since it'll be easier to lug this smaller size around when washing the car, etc.
The Home Depot orange buckets are MUCH taller than this, but the plastic is thinner and the molding quality is obviously worse on the Home Depot bucket than the Rubbermaid bucket. The biggest difference is the handles--the Rubbermaid handle is much sturdier.
Also, the square shape does make it easier to fit a wide/flat mop inside.
And no, there are no measurement markings inside, though I think the two molded lips inside are molded at specific volumes.

That's nothing. We have secret monthly meetings about round buckets.

No need to spend a penny, just damaging the environment. Nice large, and sturdy buckets are all over sides of streets on trash pickup days. Or they may be behind buildings or businesses that just empty them from food products or from paint or calcium carbonate paintings in a building under construction or something. They can be easily cleaned or scrubbed off paint/calcium as the plastic is incredibly smooth surfaced and won't hold anything on its surface.
Supposedly, the best food-grade buckets to get for free are from bakeries. They use them to hold the flour, and they usually come with reusable lids.
That's perfect for those who use the Kratky method of hydroponic gardening.

How is it better than those generic white cylindrical buckets or even a basic Orange "Homer" HD bucket?

Easier to store?
The plastic on those generic white gallon painting buckets is fairly thin, this bucket is thicker. 5 gallon vs 3.75 gallon, so it's going to be lighter/easier to handle if it'll be carried around a lot

I think the pour spout really does it for me. That's easily the sexiest bucket I've seen in a long time.

You should make a video on this, like from the point of walking up to BK and asking for the buckets, them handing it to you, etc.
Just trying to save folks a few bucks and a few hassles with some type-written words. But if you need visuals, by all means, make a video yourself.

A $15 dolly to wheel around a free bucket? Not really saving money now...

Comparable bucket dollies on Amazon start around $45. For car washing, a dolly is the way to go. If you prefer, you can buy the bucket too rather than get one free -- your choice.
