You do not need to replace heads every month (once in three months seems reasonable, assuming you brush teeth twice per day). I have been using generic heads and they seem okay. The last batch I bought was a bit stiffer than the bathes I bought before and the OEMs, but they work fine. I read an article claiming that generics are not as good as the OEMs, but I would speculate that even if this is the case, the difference is marginal.

My dentist and dental hygienist recommend Sonicare, but if you know what you are doing, the $1 toothbrush can produce similar results (as long as you do quality brushing). The $30 brush would generally do a better job if you are sloppy.

The $1 brush can do the same thing, but it requires perfect technique and diligence. This does all the work for you, and you get consistent results. And if I'm ever pressed for time, a 30 second brushing with this leaves me feeling much fresher than anything I can accomplish with a manual toothbrush in the same time.

I don't want it i don't want it... Battery dies very fast... Charger looks ugly if always out... If used regularly.. Teeth gets sensitive as if the toothbrush is too abrasive for 3/day daily use

Sonimart was the O.G. 3rd party brush heads a few years ago iirc, when I tried to buy a new set I couldn't find them, but I found one on Amazon called Brushmo and they seem exactly the same and work great. Don't replace as often as prescribed... every 3 months is fine and no less hygenic.

I have it, bought it like two or three years back from Costco.
When the first one battery reduced a bit, I called the Philips and they sent the new one promptly, but still using the old one.
Loved it.
For this price you won't regret.

I bought a 2-pack of a higher end Sonicare tooth brushes for $150 from Costco a few years back. They were great until the stopped working as they should. The vibrations stopped being as forceful in the first one after a about a year, so I swapped to the second one. Same thing happened to the second one. I watched a Youtube video on how to repair it, shouldn't be too hard, but popping the end cap off seems pretty annoying. After that, it's just loosing a screw and adjusting the spacing on some part. I guess I could technically return them to Costco, but I feel bad because they obviously get kind of gross after a few years, and I wore through the heads that came with them, obviously. But in the meantime... in for 1.

Edit: Actually the guy above just posted the ones I bought from Costco. I'm pretty sure they all eventually fail to the spacing issue, so I probably would not buy the more expensive ones again.
