AquaWater09901 have you confirmed that this works to get you to 28MPH? Also recognize you have the Big Swell I believe. Have been trying this on the Big Sur, as others have said, perhaps with other models as well they haven't been able to change it.

Perhaps you even have a different LCD Display? I can see on the back of mine it says it is Model AK47.

I have tried searching for hacks on Model AK47 but haven't come up with anything, but see this is in fact the display as quantities can be bought from Alibaba etc, showing this display.

I did notice I can get to some type of undocumented menu on mine with PO levels and settings by holding down the up and down at the same time while the display is on.

Edit:

Ah, I figured out how to remove the limit!!

These PO settings look to be standard.
So get to the PO settings by holding the Up/Down at the same time after the LCD is on.
Click on the power button to go through the PO's.
PO8 is the limit! This is in kmh, this was set to 32, bump this up with the up arrow to 41. That is the max I could change it to. This works out to 25.5 mph.
After this change I can get to 25mph going down a hill.
On a straight road I can cruise at about 22 with full throttle. Pedaling fast like crazy I can get it up 24.

So this is a bit of an increase. Perhaps with a bigger front sprocket I could peddle a bit normally and get to 25.

Perhaps it is a limit of the 350W motor or the battery to get me with throttle to 23 or so, but I don't think the controller itself will let me go above 41kph with motor assist.

Possibly changing wheel size, PO6, would allow assist at faster speed?

FYI, I see some people have commented about their having 5 instead of 3 levels. This can be set in the PO5 setting.

Here are the PO settings for an entirely different controller, but they look pretty close from what I see. https://elecbikeparts.com/pages/s...ser-manual

There could be some other cool settings to see what they are and work with them.

for example: P12 PAS Start Strength
0-5, Higher = more assistance
Amount of assistance given when you start pedaling.

I am thinking this must be low. It seems to give very little help right away. Perhaps a safety feature set at factory? But I want help right away!

Or PO9 might affect how quickly it helps?
P09 Throttle Response
0 for instant throttle, 1 for delayed throttle
Sets whether pressing throttle and motor beginning to spin is instant, or whether there is a delay between the actions.

Edit: P09 was already set at 0 and can't be changed
P12 was set at 3 and can't go higher, but it can go lower.

FYI, read on this site https://power-bicycle.com/ebike-power/ that hub motors are pretty much limited to 25.

"Once the ebike is travelling at 25 MPH, the controller-wheel speed is maxed out. You can't go far over 25 MPH on most hub motors unless the motor & controller pair are designed for higher speeds."

This guy also talks about a smoothing circuit the mfgs implement for greater distance. Something about a loop back wire that can be removed to increase initial assistance but at
a sacrifice in distance.

Is this random china stuff?

Not a lot of reviews. I got a warning going to this site (possibly fraudulent?).

Why don't they sell any ebikes on their non-corporate site?

Is anyone else concerned this is a knockoff? Joyridebikes.com is the original site (since 2001) selling Hurley and joyridebike.com (since 2015) is painted with 'weird' all over it.

How are people liking these bikes? Finding it hard to pull the trigger when the motor is just 350w

The mile I rode the teton it was pretty cool, first time riding an electric bike and it easily hit 20 mph. Yes it'll dip on hills but that is expected. The assist feature is nice for general riding and cruise control could be fun too.

There is a market for electric bikes for sure, if just wanting to test it out I would buy one. Good price and if you dont like it just resell it for a profit.

For anyone that got the Teton, would it be suitable for someone who is 5'2"?

these are still pretty zippy and a great deal even for a 350 watt.

Which option would be recommended for someone who is 5'10" and will be biking mostly on the street or bike paths? Thank you!

Need advice from E-bike pros
Both bikes cost the same - around $400

Sams club Hyper Mountain 36-volt ebike frame is 26" and has a 250w motor with 6 gear speeds.

The Teton frame is a 27.5" and has a 350w motor with single gear setting.

Which one is the best?

Teton! Do Hyper bikes have full throttle too?

The blackjack or the carve seem like a good fit

Hyper motor only engages when I paddle it, so no full throttle. But isn't full throttle bad on the bike? More motor and battery wear? Not a pro here, just basic research. Thank you for your response

If you are going to hit some bike paths too, consider a bike with some gears and wider tires.

In general, with ebikes, you want wider tires as you'll be going faster and the efficiency of skinny tires is not really needed.

Motor peak power rating and battery brand are my two concerns.
The Big Sur arrived yesterday.

The card attached to the bike says "36V/10Ah Lithium ion battery"
Motor: 350W

On the battery it says:
Model: SINC3610
Watt-hour: 360Wh
Cell: ISR18650-2500mAh
Charging Voltage: 42V

Just tried it out. It zips along at 20mph.

I will have my 5' 6" wife try it .
I am concerned this will be too high for her.
I am 5'9" and can just barely straddle the bar with flat feet.
Seat as low as it can go will be much higher than my wife is used to.

The instructions and diagrams say in a couple of places say to hook in the wheel retainers on the front wheel. But mine did not come with wheel retainers. Anyone else have this issue?

Ah I'm looking at the BIG SWELL and not BIG SUR. But thanks for the follow up!

Did anyone purchase the Diablo? If so, mind stating what it says on the battery, such as the model #? Want to make sure it's easily replaceable in the future.
