AquaWater09901 have you confirmed that this works to get you to 28MPH? Also recognize you have the Big Swell I believe. Have been trying this on the Big Sur, as others have said, perhaps with other models as well they haven't been able to change it.

Perhaps you even have a different LCD Display? I can see on the back of mine it says it is Model AK47.

I have tried searching for hacks on Model AK47 but haven't come up with anything, but see this is in fact the display as quantities can be bought from Alibaba etc, showing this display.

I did notice I can get to some type of undocumented menu on mine with PO levels and settings by holding down the up and down at the same time while the display is on.

Edit:

Ah, I figured out how to remove the limit!!

These PO settings look to be standard.
So get to the PO settings by holding the Up/Down at the same time after the LCD is on.
Click on the power button to go through the PO's.
PO8 is the limit! This is in kmh, this was set to 32, bump this up with the up arrow to 41. That is the max I could change it to. This works out to 25.5 mph.
After this change I can get to 25mph going down a hill.
On a straight road I can cruise at about 22 with full throttle. Pedaling fast like crazy I can get it up 24.

So this is a bit of an increase. Perhaps with a bigger front sprocket I could peddle a bit normally and get to 25.

Perhaps it is a limit of the 350W motor or the battery to get me with throttle to 23 or so, but I don't think the controller itself will let me go above 41kph with motor assist.

Possibly changing wheel size, PO6, would allow assist at faster speed?

FYI, I see some people have commented about their having 5 instead of 3 levels. This can be set in the PO5 setting.

Here are the PO settings for an entirely different controller, but they look pretty close from what I see. https://elecbikeparts.com/pages/s...ser-manual

There could be some other cool settings to see what they are and work with them.

for example: P12 PAS Start Strength
0-5, Higher = more assistance
Amount of assistance given when you start pedaling.

I am thinking this must be low. It seems to give very little help right away. Perhaps a safety feature set at factory? But I want help right away!

Or PO9 might affect how quickly it helps?
P09 Throttle Response
0 for instant throttle, 1 for delayed throttle
Sets whether pressing throttle and motor beginning to spin is instant, or whether there is a delay between the actions.

Edit: P09 was already set at 0 and can't be changed
P12 was set at 3 and can't go higher, but it can go lower.

FYI, read on this site https://power-bicycle.com/ebike-power/ that hub motors are pretty much limited to 25.

"Once the ebike is travelling at 25 MPH, the controller-wheel speed is maxed out. You can't go far over 25 MPH on most hub motors unless the motor & controller pair are designed for higher speeds."

This guy also talks about a smoothing circuit the mfgs implement for greater distance. Something about a loop back wire that can be removed to increase initial assistance but at
a sacrifice in distance.

Is this random china stuff?

Not a lot of reviews. I got a warning going to this site (possibly fraudulent?).

Why don't they sell any ebikes on their non-corporate site?

Is anyone else concerned this is a knockoff? Joyridebikes.com is the original site (since 2001) selling Hurley and joyridebike.com (since 2015) is painted with 'weird' all over it.

Can the big sur take mild trails or its strictly a road bike? I have not heard anyone here buying the Silver Ridge, is it not good enough
Just got a Big Sur, and it would totally be able to do some mild trails, but without any shocks at all I'd say *very* mild....

I have a Diablo on the way as well, that one should be a bit more trail-worthy (the Big Sur is for my wife)

When I try to check out now its putting tax on the order. It didnt seem to do this a few days ago.

Sounds like the motors dont have holes for disc brakes if ever wanted to add them.

Ordered on the 18th and I still haven't received them... Had an early delivery date scheduled for yesterday (8/22) from the initial 8/24 quote, but according to FedEx the shipment still hasn't arrived in my area.

I am on the same boat. Teton shipping to WA. Shipping label has been created. but Fedex still hasn't received the item. Ordered on 8/18. Original delivery date was 08/26-09/01

Update: Customer support told me that I would be getting an update reg shipping tomorrow. I assume they are overloaded with multiple orders and they are working on it to catch up. The shipping label thing might be some automated flow.

Any idea if Teton will come back in stock? I'd probably roll the dice on one.

A couple of things on the Big Sur.

1. Did your front wheel have wheel retainers that fit into the holes as shown in their assembly instructions? Mine did not.

2. Anyone have a problem with the rubber end of the kickstand falling off? Ours came off somewhere on my wife's first trip.

Contacted support regarding these and received email that replacement parts have been shipped.

I don't know how they can sell the 350W 10Ah bikes for $360.
I can't even find conversion kits with these specs for under $600.

I have been looking to add e-assist to some of my other bikes.
turboant had 500w bikes on sale for $700. I like the bike that I got. Unfortunately they are out of stock or they aren't making those anymore. I would have bought a second one, if not oos.

I got the Acadia, which is technically the Hurley Laguna- and it had 5 levels for pedal assist the first week I had it. Today it has 9 levels and the throttle powers even I'm fully stopped. Not sure what type of settings I'm engaging but at least it's working properly today.

I am in the same boat. I am 5.11 and want to share the bike with my kid who's 5.4. Amped looks like a good option but I am hesitating because of the smaller battery and power. Wondering which option should I pick. Well I am in the northeast, so only a month of good weather I guess.

EDIT: Can the big sur take mild trails or its strictly a road bike? I have not heard anyone here buying the Silver Ridge, is it not good enough?
I'm 5'5"- I got the Acadia and my husband got the Big Sur. It's too tall for me to ride- I can't even get up on it without feeling like I'm going to fall off the bike. The Acadia works great for me though and is super comfortable.

I have an old, I think Burley kid trailer. It attaches over and between the bars rather than on to bike axle, so that worked fine for me on the Big Sur. I was thinking of getting one of these bikes for my daughter and her kids, though she has a newer Schwinn trailer that has an attachment at the axle. So it is concerning to me that it sounds like that won't work for her.

Post back if you figure anything out. Thanks.
Thanks for the info! I'll try to find an adapter that fits and let you know if I find anything

Thanks for sharing your first hand experience. Unfortunately the Acadia is too expensive.

No problem at all. Now I am not a pro when it comes to E bikes, I honestly just bought this one because it was fast and it looked cool lol. But here are the specs coming straight from the battery:
Capacity: 15ah 720wh
Brand: Ningbo Veken New Energy
Model: HS-48v15Ah-Ebike-A

And yes! It comes standard limited to 20 mph, but by holding the up arrow button for three seconds then holding the power button for another three seconds it removes the limiter, and I have been able to get a constant top speed of 28 mph.
AquaWater09901 have you confirmed that this works to get you to 28MPH? Also recognize you have the Big Swell I believe. Have been trying this on the Big Sur, as others have said, perhaps with other models as well they haven't been able to change it.

P09 Throttle Response
0 for instant throttle, 1 for delayed throttle
Sets whether pressing throttle and motor beginning to spin is instant, or whether there is a delay between the actions.
