AquaWater09901 have you confirmed that this works to get you to 28MPH? Also recognize you have the Big Swell I believe. Have been trying this on the Big Sur, as others have said, perhaps with other models as well they haven't been able to change it.

Perhaps you even have a different LCD Display? I can see on the back of mine it says it is Model AK47.

I have tried searching for hacks on Model AK47 but haven't come up with anything, but see this is in fact the display as quantities can be bought from Alibaba etc, showing this display.

I did notice I can get to some type of undocumented menu on mine with PO levels and settings by holding down the up and down at the same time while the display is on.

Edit:

Ah, I figured out how to remove the limit!!

These PO settings look to be standard.
So get to the PO settings by holding the Up/Down at the same time after the LCD is on.
Click on the power button to go through the PO's.
PO8 is the limit! This is in kmh, this was set to 32, bump this up with the up arrow to 41. That is the max I could change it to. This works out to 25.5 mph.
After this change I can get to 25mph going down a hill.
On a straight road I can cruise at about 22 with full throttle. Pedaling fast like crazy I can get it up 24.

So this is a bit of an increase. Perhaps with a bigger front sprocket I could peddle a bit normally and get to 25.

Perhaps it is a limit of the 350W motor or the battery to get me with throttle to 23 or so, but I don't think the controller itself will let me go above 41kph with motor assist.

Possibly changing wheel size, PO6, would allow assist at faster speed?

FYI, I see some people have commented about their having 5 instead of 3 levels. This can be set in the PO5 setting.

Here are the PO settings for an entirely different controller, but they look pretty close from what I see. https://elecbikeparts.com/pages/s...ser-manual

There could be some other cool settings to see what they are and work with them.

for example: P12 PAS Start Strength
0-5, Higher = more assistance
Amount of assistance given when you start pedaling.

I am thinking this must be low. It seems to give very little help right away. Perhaps a safety feature set at factory? But I want help right away!

Or PO9 might affect how quickly it helps?
P09 Throttle Response
0 for instant throttle, 1 for delayed throttle
Sets whether pressing throttle and motor beginning to spin is instant, or whether there is a delay between the actions.

Edit: P09 was already set at 0 and can't be changed
P12 was set at 3 and can't go higher, but it can go lower.

FYI, read on this site https://power-bicycle.com/ebike-power/ that hub motors are pretty much limited to 25.

"Once the ebike is travelling at 25 MPH, the controller-wheel speed is maxed out. You can't go far over 25 MPH on most hub motors unless the motor & controller pair are designed for higher speeds."

This guy also talks about a smoothing circuit the mfgs implement for greater distance. Something about a loop back wire that can be removed to increase initial assistance but at
a sacrifice in distance.

Is this random china stuff?

Not a lot of reviews. I got a warning going to this site (possibly fraudulent?).

Why don't they sell any ebikes on their non-corporate site?

Is anyone else concerned this is a knockoff? Joyridebikes.com is the original site (since 2001) selling Hurley and joyridebike.com (since 2015) is painted with 'weird' all over it.

I never rode an e-bike before. I know it says max speed is 20mph but doesn't that mean for the motor speed? I can do 30mph max speed pedaling with my road bike and even my mountain bike with hybrid tires. Is this e-bike motor running going to just stop me going any faster than 20mph? If the battery is dead, can I still pedal it over 20mph?
I have teton with single speed and I find it easy to pedal (just like a regular bike with no motor assistance) and can get close to 30mph with some hard pedaling. There is a way to bypass the 20mph limit and is described few pages back. full throttle gets about 23mph on flat surface

Very interesting deal. At first I thought the Thruster interested me the most but knowing where I am riding mostly, I think the Carve is more suited for me. $699.99 - 40% = $420

I think I saw this Hurley Carve bike in the bike rack at my gym. I definitely saw a Hurley e-scooter locked up in my gym's bike rack. I believe it was that $240 deal Hurley e-scooter.

Hurley is a popular surfing and swimwear company and has been around since 1979. You can see their clothes at Kohls. I really don't know much about their bikes but I would prefer to have a name brand even if it isn't a big bike brand name than a no name brand with no history. I think Hurley will provide more customer support in the future if needed.

Just got the diablo after cancelling the initial order. They are pretty fast on cancelling if you cancel within the day. Even though I live in a hilly area I think this is better than nothing, and this is a decent price without dropping like $2500+ on a specialized ebike mid-drive or what not. I just hope the parts are not too crappy and the battery won't die on me too fast, otherwise I have to drop another $150 on a battery from aliexpress (that won't even fit?). I guess I can contact support for the actual battery if it dies or malfunctions.

No, now it even shows up with the 40% coupon already applied. So $360 for example for the Betty right now.

Yes that is the one I bought the Betty. Thought it was dead only showed 25% off.
I had to add the code to get 40% off.

It's light in my opinion compared to the gen3 stride which I also got from another slickdeal. Definitely fine for your height I think. I hooked up a kids tandem bike on my seat post which makes my seat post higher, but at 5' 8" I can still touch the ground with my toes.
Would you say a medium would be a good fit for a 5ft 11 inch person?

If the battery dies, can you buy a replacement? I couldn't find anything on their website. I assume if the battery dies so does the ebike. Will cancel my order if batteries can't be replaced, without knowing the cost of replacement.

I'd spend the extra money for the Diablo, it has disc brakes and is 7 speed, many complaints on here about how it sucks pedaling a single speed. I just purchased it, seems like a pretty decent deal and also looks aesthetically pleasing.
Was wondering if a medium size would work for a 5ft 11 inch person? 150 pounds

What? Maybe the Teton has a much larger front chainring or smaller rear gear? I can't physically spin my legs around fast enough to get above 24 mph on the Big Sur. I am looking at putting a larger front chainring on it.
