indirectly , both acer and gateway are made by acer.
acer bought gateway name, and licensed the name to evoo.
anyways, so r u reconsidering the gateway after having actually used the LT?
or simply because u never heard the name before?
oh, i forgot there was another "expert" that did alert me.
to the fact that GW has 2x the memory (16v8) & space (512v256) than the Acer
Acer makes some good computers but lots of other bad ones. I have never used a Gateway after it became independent so I cannot speak its quality. As a matter of fact, I have only had a Gateway when it was still an American company.
i think that is best of the bunch. even at $300.
My eBay refurb came with a 2-year warranty, unlike this which has 1.
+ the cost for more memory, space , ect
making it less slick than the original "deal"

-The Acer has a much brighter screen. It was mainly noticeable for me was while using streaming service as I use dark mode for pretty much everything.
-I am not a fan of the acer keyboard. Everything is squished in and the keys and keyboard itself are smaller. The gateway keyboard is pretty much the entire width of the laptop.
-The Acer has a better trackpad and the buttons are much quieter. I feel like I have to press harder on the gateway for things like highlight and drag. I did see in another post that some are reporting trackpad issues while others are not. The gateway I have is accurate on the cursor, but lacking on the buttons.
-Love that the gateway has fingerprint reader. It has worked every time I've tried to use it.
-I'm going to do a battery test today. Basically streaming to see how long each one will last on one charge.
