I finally bit the bullet on getting a Sam's membership with this deal. The increasing scarcity of online coupons coming with the membership (many of the coupons are now for in-store use only) made me look to pay a little more for the plus membership - especially given the free shipping benefit.

Don't get suckered into the $100 store credit for $80 add-on during checkout; that is for PopSci store credit, not Sam's.

Once you check out from PopSci, you immediately get a redemption code. Paste that code into the Sam's club website (follow PopSci prompts after purchase) to immediately activate your Plus membership.

Make sure to turn off auto renew in your Sam's Club account afterwards. It's just a checkbox to uncheck in the "manage membership" section of your account.

I've passed up on several Sam's deals in the past because I didn't have a membership, but this is the one that made me finally bite the bullet:

So this is for new members only? Can I put this in my wife's name? She was a Sam's Club member previously but it's been over (6) months. Would she need to use a new email address?

I've had a membership in the last 6 months, but my partner hasn't, so we signed up under him, with a not-previously-used email address, and it worked.

Low key Sam's Club shipping is bananas if you live close to a distribution center. Whatever I buy with my Plus membership is generally shipped 2 day max, with most overnight. As Amazon has become much more delayed in my city, items I know I can get from Sams are much more enticing, specifically electronics/non-perishables.

Example: 30lb sound bar last week weekend overnight via FedEx.

Costco is still king to me for a lot of items...but Sams is far from a slouch, and if you exclude your thoughts on their employee treatment, well worth the Plus membership. Also save about $20 on pet medicine vs going straight from the vet a visit, so a good $40 yearly.

Yes, car wash locations ARE on that page. There is a link near the bottom of the page, so both links work. That being said, I now know why I never knew about this benefit, as there aren't any locations anywhere near me. : (
