I have the 2020 Sony X90H tv with built-in chromecast and Dolby vision and Atmos support. The other Apple device I have is the original HomePod. Is there any additional use case that I can get out of this Apple TV device?

It's much more likely you either have effects of slow internet connection or over-compression by your streaming service. Most 4K streaming really suffers due to this especially in fast action scenes in movies or sports. Apple TV as a streaming source (both the service and the box) are considered about as good as you can get for streaming quality. And I have no reason to doubt that from my experience. That said, I still like to buy UHD discs for movies.

Are you using tv speakers , soundbar or a/v receiver for sound ?

Yes this very model that has 4 year old chip. I don't think you use YouTube much on it for example or Asphalt 8.

I find Apple TV works with everything you need. Amazon Prime, YouTube (for Google content), HBOMax, etc. Apple doesn't have the issues of anything now working like Amazon fire stick not working with YouTube!

I had a Pixel 3 and had never used the Apple App store in my life when I got my AppleTV--I just had to create and fully verify an Apple ID and have it set up with all the info for purchases (similar to setting up an Amazon account for a Fire Stick). I definitely never had to install iTunes on my PC to install apps to the device.

**EDIT**I had used an Apple Music trial in the past, so perhaps that is what let me in with just my Apple ID without a problem.

I just bought this6apple tv 4k 2021 on Prime Day deal , created new apple id account from android phone, manage to install apps and start using it already , in fact I created t apple id account so I can install apps from 2 different country (2 profiles)

So if I'm on a desktop/laptop watching Youtube can I "cast" it to the AppleTV or do I have to grab the remote and find it?

I like the idea of the AppleTV since it appears to be really fast and smooth and even the latest Chromecast is laggy and crashy.
