Because Brother home printers are workhorses. All the Brother printers I've ever owned have been super reliable and work for years and years. All the other brand printers I've owned (e.g., Lexmark, Canon) crapped out, were intermittently unreliable, or needed frequent attention.

Nearly pulled the trigger on this one thanks to the SD effect… then stopped myself when I realized the one I bought 5 years ago is still going strong with 3rd party ink from Amazon lol. 🤷🏽 ♂️

Wow...there used to store displays of the Brother laser printers at stores like Staples

I paid maybe 30% of these prices and bought the units of the display floor...bought generic toner off ebay and never looked back

I guess those days are long gone but I truly dont troll Staples stores like I used to

I have a sneaking suspicion that they're selling new printers as refurbed, to grab a bigger piece of market share by selling them a little cheaper to the tightwads like us. I can't imagine how Brother could have access to that many used printers in virtually new condition.

For black and white, it's hard to go wrong with the MFCL2750DW, the flagship of Brother's smaller all-in-one series lasers. It's fast, feature-packed, and should last for many years. Cheap to own too. It's a lot of printer for $228, and showing in stock at the moment. Best new price I've seen lately is $299.

My refurb 3290 from the last brother sale came with uses starter toner. They acknowledged it refused to send replacement toner. 34 pages. Beware!
