    They are brushless and much better than a black and decker set. I have these. Very compact drill and driver.

    I have their 36v hammer drill as well. It's way bigger and heavier. The 18v drill does fine for most tasks.

    I have the impact driver only from this set that I bought for $69 a few months ago. Very good tool! I own a few Hitachi/Metabo HPT tools and like the quality/price trade-off they offer.

    The only complaint I have, is that I really wish the batteries were 2.0Ah, instead of 1.5Ah. I put plywood in my attic and had to change batteries towards the end of the project. A 2.0Ah battery would have lasted the entire project.

    Also, since this is a compact set, the max torque on the impact driver is 1200 in-lbs, significantly less than the 1500+ in-lbs of torque on a full-size unit. While you won't have any issues driving deck screws or really any screws on wood, it doesn't have enough torque for more demanding applications, like removing lug nuts on your car.

    I am invested in the Hitachi (now Metabo) line of 18V slide battery tools. I have the drill/driver, the impact driver, and the reciprocating saw. Their batteries continue to hold their capacity, even though they are a handful of years old. The tools, themselves, have surprising power for 18V tools. I have corded versions of all of these tools and had expected to have needed them for heavier-duty jobs. In all honesty, I never had to break out the corded tools. These handle whatever I've needed them to do, though I am realistic about it. I do have a heavy-duty corded impact driver for lug nuts.

    Solid price. FWIW, it looks like the maximum price is actually around $180, with frequent sales in the $135-155 range. Seems like this is the first time it has dropped to $109.

    Edit: Can't paste the CamelCamelCamel link, but that's how I looked at the price history.

    I have three Hitatchi/ Metabo 18v drills and I love them. However, I have 4 batteries that will no longer charge. They are stored charged and used frequently. I wish I knew what the problem was.

    These are top of the line professional grade tools. Your B&D is a toy compared to this. Not much of difference in real life between the 18v and 36v, other than the triple hammer- which is also not that great.

    My Metabo tools have fallen off a roof onto the concrete below and kept working fine without any damage.

    I have these and they're solid. I put in 90 3" deck screws into pressure treated wood and they slid in like butter with the impact driver. The tools are light and feel good on the hand.

    Only complaint is there is NO battery indicator on the batteries so you have no idea what charge level you're at. Frustrating they'd leave such a simple and necessary feature off when all other manufacturers offer it it seems.
