It just as powerful as the Octane was on the high-end, but it doesn't ramp up in power quite as fast.

Overall, it's a nearly equal tool. I'm happy to have the Octane model, but this is a great value too.

If you don't already have Ridgid, seriously evaluate it against the Ryobi HP One+ stuff.

Solid deal. I nabbed the bare Octane version from DT (blemished) for $150 on a prior SD. The thing is a total beast at yanking Honda crank bolts (those who know, know) combined with a weighted 19mm socket and the 4.0Ah Octane battery.

I have the Octane mid-torque and I've used it extensively over the past 4 years and it's never let me down. Rebuilt three front end suspensions, replaced a couple exhaust systems, steering knuckles, took off a few axle/spindle nuts with it. I don't see a need for the big daddy unless you're a pro or work on heavy equipment.

I'm in the Ridgid line but recently picked up some Ryobi tools and run them with my Ridgid batteries using an adapter. Ryobi makes so many more tools that Ridigid simply don't offer. I've been happy with the Ryobi tools thus far.

Seized crankbolts can definitely put the mid-torque in a battle it may not win.

A Honda isn't exactly heavy equipment. I love my subcompact and midtorque, but you definitely don't have to be a pro or work on heavy equipment to benefit from a high torque. IMHO, if the torque wrench isn't spinning it off in a few seconds of hammering, then I'd rather have a bigger hammer.

Pros on heavy equipment don't often use little 1/2" impacts.

Possibly the best value that exists. Its very large. I would not recommend it as one's primary impact. This is for stubborn jobs.

A subcompact is the most useful, followed by a midtorque, followed by this big one. Smaller ones fit more places.
