I feel like they would sell way more at a lower price point but I guess if you dominate the market you can do what you want lol.

I have been through a variety of smart LED bulbs, standard, ambient, and full RGBW. From my experience I would say that the best of the budget brands is Govee. They have a pretty solid app that is continuing to get feature updates and their camera solution for color matching screens is pretty solid and allows you to mix products. I would not recommend getting the lights that only work from BT as ones with Wifi will let you easily control from Google or Amazon smart devices.

All that being said, I have been converting most of my rooms to Hue. Their color quality and simplicity is just awesome.

This is dirt cheap for this product. Keep in mind that this can also be used to complete the "missing bottom lights" of a Hue Play Gradient strip setup. I will use the base strip to replace Play light bars on the bottom of my 82" QLED that look terrible since I switched the rest of the TV to Hue Play Gradient strip.

This isn't the Play Gradient Lightstrip, right? Does it work with TVs?
It will work with one side of the tv. Does not have the 'intelligence' to do 3 sides like the Play gradient does.

Functionally, it seems the Ambience can do the same as the Play? Is the main difference the corner structure where the Play has the nice, round, corner? Secondary differences seem to do with zoning as well? Some Amazon reviews indicate the Ambience is compatible with the Syncbox, but does that mean it just syncs the main color or it actually does what the Play Strip does? If the corner design is the biggest difference I'm surprised there isn't a third party channel for this issue unless there is more to the Play strip (the gapping between cuts might play into this as well I theorize).
The biggest point is that the ambiance strip does 3 zones and can cover the bottom of a large TV and the Play strip does 7 zones and has 3 sizes to go around the top 3 sides of 55,65,75+ TVs.

You seem to be an expert with Hue lights. Hopefully, you can answer this and help me. I have a 77C1 but bought two 65 inch Hue Play Gradient strips to go around the TV when Best Buy had it on sale a few months ago. Honestly, I assumed 65" TV meant a 65" length and was planning to add both these to the 77" TV. I was busy for few weeks and when I wanted to add the strip to TV I looked into them more closely and realized each of the strip individually would fit just a 65" TV. It was too late to return to Best Buy and now I am stuck with them. Just wondering if there is any way for me to make two 65" Play Gradients to work on a 77" TV. Thanks in advance for your help.

Not the OP and never tried to do this, but gut reaction is that you can't be combining two play gradients into one and, even if you could, it would likely be substantially larger than the 77". Probably best to sell your packs unopened and recoup as much as you can and purchase the larger strip.

How do you convert the bottom?

Sorry about your experience and I agree that it is somewhat misleading. I have a 75" Play strip on an 82" which is the best you can do on a larger TV and I am very happy with it. A 65" Play strip might actually work better on 77" than the 75" Play strip. The key is to do the math to where the top and sides of the strip are equidistance from the top and side edges of the TV while also going around most of the outside of the panel. In practice, that simple means you have to move the strip further "in". If your TV is fairly far away from the wall, you will have a great experience still.

Weird, not seeing a coupon. What are the details on it?

Edit: Found it, but not applying to this order. Only applies to other Hue items. Weak.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will open one of the boxes and try this. My TV is wall mounted and it is about 5-6 inches from the wall. Not sure if this is enough distance for the Play strip to emit light outside the panel perimeter while also sitting farther "in" from the top and side edges of the TV. Thanks again.

Is it a waste of money to purchase this over the other strip if I'm just going to put it above cabinets, under my bed, or under my desk? If it's worth the upgrade though I'm comfortable paying this. I've already got the bridge and 4 bulbs (weak I know but working on it)

I'm curious about this but not sure if it will do what I'm looking to achieve. I currently have an 85" with the 75" gradient play connected to a hue sync box. I'd like to add this to the bottom to fill it in but will it still change colors with what playing on the tv or is this one solid color?

It depends on if you value having multiple colors.

Personally, I like this although it is a tad youthful in this photo: https://pisces.bbystatic.com/imag...039ad9.jpg

Haha I think it looks great if the person enjoys it. Thanks for the insight, I like the idea of mixing shades of red orange and yellow together in the evening so I'll stick with this one instead of getting one of the solid color ones
