FYI: There is a recall for Premier Protein and other products by the manufacturer
https://www.premierprotein.com/re...nformation

https://www.cnn.com/2022/08/01/he...index.html
Food service company Lyons Magnus issued a voluntary recall for 53 beverage products over possible contamination with Cronobacter sakazakii, according to an announcement posted by the company on Friday.

The recall includes certain lots of beverages, liquid coffee, pediatric nutritional supplements, protein shakes, nutritional shakes, and thickened liquids. Products included in the recall include some branded as Oatly, Stumptown, Glucerna, Intelligentsia, Aloha, Kate Farms, and Premier Protein. "Preliminary root cause analysis shows that the products did not meet commercial sterility specifications," the recall said.

No illnesses or complaints related to these products have been reported, the company said. People who have purchased the recalled products are asked to throw them out or return them for a refund.

FYI - I believe some of this has just been recalled.
clumping has nothing to do with packaging but ingredients and temperature fluctuations (and shelf life).

IMO this isn't a great deal. Shakes should be bought at 1 dollar a piece and no more.

They need to switch all of their packaging to the bottles. I've had way too many cases returned to costco because of clumping. Never had an issue with the bottles from amazon but I've switched over to fairlife due to all the quality control issues with premier.

It's a huge recall. Way more than just Premier. it has Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria.

Getting away from these. The top congeals and leaves disgusting bands of rubbery goo that is nearly impossible to avoid drinking. I do store them in my garage so maybe that's the reason.

Shakes go up to 50g protein, so $1 is not reasonable for higher protein.
I've had a goal of a shake with 20gm protein for $1. You want any cheaper, make you own from protein powder.

BTW got this for ~$11 shipped on prime day (~$15 now with 5 S&S items)

I refrigerate them as soon as they arrive. Had clumping only once a long time ago. Never had that issue for a while, and I have enough in my fridge for 1-2 per day all the time.

Wait if there is goo it is from the recall you are saying? I just drank one from a batch I just got from Amazon and it had some gross goo in it.
