I updated this machine windows and drivers before buying my $25 8 gig ram stick From Amazon. Was that a mistake? Should I have installed memory 1st or Is there some settings I should adjust after installing? Is it advised to run memory test programs?

How is the battery when just web browsing or youtubing? Heard the battery is very bad but thats only if you are gaming? So when not gaming, it uses the integrated graphics card right? But how many hours battery can you get say youtube video only?


Also lot of people say the screen is horrible. Anyone can confirm this? Using an old dell xps 15 9550. This laptop is lot better or not?


Also any issue with it connecting to 2 external monitors or not?

Monitor is just fine, not bad, not great, I think people are thinking about the older G Dell laptops, and some of those did have PWM screens which a small amount of people are quite sensitive to, but this isn't the case with this model, the brightness is the only thing that isn't great, otherwise it's just as good as the 1080p display on my Lenovo Ideapad 5. This isn't a MacBook Pro, it's a budget entry level gaming laptop lol, it's like buying an entry level Samsung TV (think QN60 series vs QN90) the picture is good, but NOT great… it's simple lol. I think the worst part about the laptop is the speakers, they aren't awful but sound tinnier than most I've heard. Also, avoid that Alienware software like the plague… Battery life is good, I think YouTube can play for around 8 hours with the screen at 6/10. Can't comment about connecting 2 external displays. GPU 50 at idle, ~75 at load; CPU 60 at idle, ~80 at load.

Hahaha I'm just kidding. Some people stress test with memtest for 24 hours. I run a few passes of passmark and userbenchmark and if they run fine and my scores are in the average range I'm satisfied. Play a game for 6 hours and if no problems you are fine 😎

Updated drivers, reporting that Forza Horizon 5 runs on high settings with vsync off at ~120FPS. Installing Doom and No Man's Sky now. Pretty stoked about this little laptop. 😎

You're hooked up to external monitor or TV? I guess this laptop doesn't have much switch, I thought it did. Wondering if this laptop is good fit for my TV

Play Xbox Series X on the big screen so I haven't plugged the laptop into any external source.
