Note that this does not have the "curve control" its brother has. That's the lever that jigsaws usually have to adjust how much the blade saddle moves back on the down stroke. It helps speed and keeps the blade cooler. Last longer. I've had both kinds and it does make a difference. Curve control because when you want to make curves with thin blades, you would turn this off.

Exactly this is a barebones jig saw for a dirty weekend job, without care about long-term woodworking. Don't expect much from this.

Dang I think I paid about the same years ago at Walmart for this. But mine says made in England. I'm sure that's not the case anymore.

34.99 for a circular saw if you got a harbor freight near you.

Walmart has cheap circular saws to.
