This is the new model PCL811 not the old P3320. This model has been only out a few months and has not appeared on DTO at least from what I've seen and a quick search of new (PCL811) and refurb (ZRPCL811) model numbers shows nothing on their site.

This one has been reviewed by youtubers as being quieter and more airflow than the older fan.

Oh yeah, add $15 shipping to that $20 cheapest ever price on DTO for an actual cost of $35 for the old fan. I know I paid about $25 around 4 years ago (for refurb as well, not new) on what I thought was almost the cheapest they had it. (It's $45 + $15 shipping right now = $60).

Therefore this deal for brand new in box; not refurb; with the 2x 4AH non-HP newer batteries is really not that terrible -- if you need the batteries. But there are more valuable tools to get as the free tool instead of the fan with this offer.

IMO, not worth it. DTO has the same fan for $20 sometimes and batteries and chargers constantly go on sale or are included in other tool purchases. The fan isn't bad, but no reason to pay this much just to get it. Maybe if you're fairly new to Ryobi 18V and think you need it for this price right now. If not, just wait for a better deal.

It's a hybrid fan. Got mine for $19.99. I'm assuming most people who buy this are buying it for their garage or workshop, so a little more or less fan noise isn't really an issue. Not going to hear either fan over saws cutting and drills grinding.

DTO usually has free pick up. The closest one to me is 20 minutes away, so I just tell them to send it there, and sometimes they'll just go ahead and send it directly to me instead of shipping it to the store.

The deal can't be hacked and this is a repeat. The deal has been going on for months and should be removed.

It doesn't. There are easily a dozen of these/they've been running them for months. Since before fathers day. They are just getting smart enough to sell them as a package so all the battery "hackers" can't keep gaming the system.
Please explain 'battery Hackers'

It's not a hack. It's been going on for years and HD is well aware of it.

During the Ryobi deals, if you buy 2 items to get the reduced price, HD prorates the price of each item.

You buy the battery pack for local pickup, then your tool for shipping. You have 15 minutes to cancel the shipping order, but you get to keep the prorated price on the batteries. Or you can do the opposite, order the item you want for shipping, and the item you don't want for store pickup. Just don't pick it up, and HD will cancel the pickup item after 2 weeks.

With the old deals they were advertised as buy the battery pack, pick a free tool. But the price was prorated across the battery set and the tool on the receipt as two separate items. People would ship the tool to their home and set the battery pack for pickup, then cancel the battery pack, never pick it up, or return it so they got a refund on the batteries. And could get a deep discount on the tool. Or vise versa, pick the most expensive tool and get cheap batteries. People would post these as "hackable" and still do but that's kind of a rediculous term. Home depot's system let you do it/return and I don't really think there was anything wrong with it.

Obviously why they run these deals so cheap is to get people into the system. So you have batteries and that one tool you need and the next time you need a tool... Which there's nothing wrong with. But seems they've decided they don't like the "hack" anymore and instead of one battery and pick a tool they are now listing each set individually. ALL the same tools are still available, including the $200 brushless with 2A,4A,6A hicap. And have been at this price for months. People keep reposting though even though there has been no price change.

Only using the term "hack" because that's how people post it. I agree home Depot allowed it and I don't see anything wrong with it either. But seems they've changed their mind for now as they are individually listing them all as sets and not prorating. Just pointing out *why* they don't see all the other tools on one listing even though you can still get them all with the battery set for $99/$199. Just have to go find that specific package.

There's a few that are still "hackable" like that nail gun with batteries but didn't look like much else

i guess this comes in several packages.
anyone know?
Got mine today and everything came together inside of one large HD box. You may want to call them and see what's going on, their warehouse may have botched your order.

Wow, just got mine in a few minutes ago and opened it up…. and it's doing the same ticking/scrubbing sound too. Certainly not 'whisper' quiet as advertised. (You can hear it easiest in speed 2)

Other than that, the thing moves more air than I was originally expecting. I guess I'll try and exchange it for one that doesn't scrub.

Let me know if your next one has the same noise please! I may try the same when I get a chance to get back to the store

If you browse youtube you'll see that these higher output batteries by Ryboi and Ridgid don't always translate to more power, even when used with the corresponding high output tools. Even when they do produce more power it's always just a few percent more power, not like night and day. I have about 20 Ridgid batteries, Octane, Max Output and regular and I can't really tell much if any difference between them when using the same size battery.

There's about 9 permutations you get with tools + batteries (with Ryobi)

Tool:
Brushed, Brushless, Brushless with extra HP contacts (only a few have this so far)

Battery:
Non-HP 18650 cells (low amp vs. high amp), HP w/extra contacts with 21700 cells

Thus:
Brushed tool + Low amp non HP batteries = lowest amount of power; not just runtime

Brushless tool w/extra contacts + high amp HP battery w/extra contacts = highest amount of power

Everything else in between varies based on type of battery and tool design and may feel only minorly improved. Compare the extremes and you will usually actually notice the difference then.
