Looks like the main difference vs regular Ultra is LT doesn't have USB port and doesn't support Dolby Atmos.

Darn that's too bad. The USB port has been handy on a few occasions where we have stayed at a place where the wifi was horrible.

Edit: meant to quote the person pointing out the LT does not have a USB port.

It looks like the LT finally has the same memory and processor as the regular ultra.

So yeah, USB and Dolby Atmos are the only differences.

Why are you trying to get way from Nvidia Shield?

Issues with plex on a shield? What version of Shield? and you think a roku will do better? What is the issue, so I can see if it efects my cube?.. Arg.. I see you are having issues with 7.1 audio.. Did you try running the plex addon within Kodi? I rearly see a reson for a Roku, so thats why I ask..

I posted it a week or two ago, but check your clearance section of your local Walmart, found the ultra for $40. Was the same price at another location near me according to brickseek, but obviously very ymmwv.

So without Dolby atmos you can't get surround sound through this Roku? Even if I have a 5.1 sound bar that's connected via optic cable to my tv? Sorry, I'm not an expert with this stuff, so hopefully my question makes sense.

Are you sure? That video is about Roku Express 4k+, not the Ultra LT in this deal.
Also, I doubt microUSB is supported on Ultra.

Without Dolby Atmos you can't get Dolby Atmos specifically, which is the top end surround sound which includes "height" speakers as well as front and rear surround. The other surround sound technologies are still there.

Wrong model. The model in the YouTube video is the Roku Express 4K+.

This post is for the Roku Ultra LT which doesn't have a micro USB port.

You don't need Atmos to have surround sound. You can get 5.1 surround with any Roku model.
