Nothing has changed with Roku OS. You get one ad on the right side which has always been there and one ad on the lower left below the navigational options. Everything else can be disabled such as the recommendation rows which people complain about being present on the home screen when it can be disabled in the settings menu.

Says it's the 2021 version. 2023 is available for higher price.

Price went up the other day. No longer $34.

edit: Appears to no longer be available sold by Walmart online. Might be regional.

How is this model (4801) compared to the $25 express 4k (3941R2)?

Is there a way to initialize it? At the risk of appearing as a character from THE IT CROWD, have you unplugged it for a few minutes, install it in the tv before you power the TV on?

The Ultra LT model number is 4801. I got both the Streaming Stick for $29 and the Ultra LT for $34. The remote on the LT feels sturdier than the Streaming Stick remote. The LT remote also has headphones. The LT also has an ethernet port. Speed wise, there's very little difference. If you watch Fubo, I'd go with the Streaming Stick. It supports multi view on Fubo but the Ultra LT does not -- that was a little disappointing.

Depends on the Smart TV and what you want. Some TVs have great software with many apps and support for a long time, others the opposite or have many obtrusive ads. With a Roku or other set top boxes you can get almost any streaming app you want, software that's supported for a long time (in many cases longer than the TVs software), probably less ads and if a box with better hardware or a new special feature comes out you can easily and cheaply replace the box with the newer one without having to buy a whole new TV.

I have Roku devices. Like streaming services, these should really start being labeled as "Roku Ultra (ad supported)". Used to be a better experience.

This doesn't do Atmos right, or can you set it to passthrough the audio?
