I'd disagree on numpad. Highly useful for literally any situation you need to input numbers (including making calls).

I run autohotkey scripts from half my keyboard. Having the numpad is great because it's technically different than the top row #s. If you use your laptop for productivity or anything that can be scripted, AHK can be invaluable, and better with a num pad.

How bad do you need touchscreen?
As you get older, the screen needs to get bigger. I need the light weight of the LG Gram. The HP looks to be over a bit heavy. Thanks though.

Anyone know if this would be a compatible upgrade (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...ap=y&smp=y) ? I know from watching a vid that the two ssd slots are different in some respect. Also, I asked before but has anyone removed the back case on a 2022 17 inch? There's only one vid on that and the process looks sketchy as there's 3 sort of hidden tabs that look easy to break... Thanks!

I'm replacing a 2010 laptop with a I5-430M cpu with this. The old laptop's Passmark score is 1206. This one is 17345. Should be a noticeable upgrade. The single thread rating goes from 994 to 3279. For what I do, that is even more important.

One thing about matte screens is that it immediately dulls the sharpness, colors, etc. it's the nature of the coating compared to just being clear and glossy.

I haven't looked at all the manufacturers but i think apple, with the ipad mini/air/pro, have a really good anti reflective coating that actually reduces glare/reflections but keeps everything popping and contrast higih

Too bad no one else has caught up yet. Matte is def not the way to go, it's the lazy way unfortunately.
