I'd disagree on numpad. Highly useful for literally any situation you need to input numbers (including making calls).

I run autohotkey scripts from half my keyboard. Having the numpad is great because it's technically different than the top row #s. If you use your laptop for productivity or anything that can be scripted, AHK can be invaluable, and better with a num pad.

This is the best trackpad I've used on a PC. Huge and very responsive. I still think MacBooks have the edge on their trackpads, but this is close.

but does it thermal throttle? What I found with all these high spec laptop is they all thermal throttle if not in a huge chassis. If they thermal throttle, then an expensive high end CPU is the same as a midrange non thermal throttle CPU.

So the 2020 version got 2 8gb and only 1 8gb solder to MB. The other 8gb is on SoDIMM socket and one can easily replace it. Is the the current one works the same or it only offers one 16gb SoDIMM and it's soldered to MB?

16GB all soldered (already in dual channel mode, I believe). No RAM slot at all.

Not sure what exactly this might be related to but I've had mine for a week or so and the fan barely comes on. I'm not maxing the cpu or anything (just doing normal office work mostly) but it has been hot weather where I am and no AC so ambient temp is high. My fan setting in the lg utility is "normal" (or whatever the default/middle setting is called). I'll also add that my laptop is usually sitting on my lap and it doesn't seem to get particularly hot to the touch...

Obviously a lot of other people are also having fan issues similar to yours so I wonder if it's a case of some variance in the heatsink effectiveness (or whatever) from unit to unit.

I'd like to know this too. I've had 'powerful' laptops and tablets throttle so bad that I can't even have a non-choppy video call without being in an 68 deg airconditioned room.

Wish these didn't have soldered ram. For the work I need it for, 32gb ram would be the minimum. At $1600 I may have to wait a lil longer.

Same here. I've had mine about a week as well. No throttle, fan or heat issues that I'm aware of, but I'm def not a power user, just doing business tasks; Chrome, Office apps, YouTube, etc. all good.

The real test will be using this full time, daily to work abroad...fingers crossed, but I'm digging it so far Rock

If you need more than 32GB, these thin and light laptops are probably not ideal. You probably want a Macbook Pro or Dell XPS.
