I got one of these 7 or 8 years ago on end of season clearance for $250, also from Sam's. Definitely not the nice fit and finish of a KJ, but at this price, if you're looking for a Kamado, it's a very solid value. Good deal.

I bought this grill about seven or eight years ago (also that $250 deal on SlickDeals that rbraden mentioned earlier) - I love the thing! It's probably my favorite deal I ever scored on SlickDeals. The only thing I've had to do to it after a ton of usage is I've replaced the felt gasket three or four times, which is very easy and I would guess would be needed with any kamado. I mainly use it for low and slow smoking (it does a great job of holding temps), but have fired it up over 700 degrees for searing and pizza as well. I've never used any other kamado grill, so I can't compare it to a KJ or Green Egg, but I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

$1 in 2014 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1.25 today.

so this isn't a slickdeal?

I have both this same vision grill from 2015 ish and a kamado Joe 1, and I agree while the KJ is higher end, the vision for this price is a very good deal and it is still a well made kamado.

My first grill.. Oh good times. Sold it and bought a Weber 22 inch. Much easier and lighter to work with. But ceramic is another beast in cold weather.

Doesn't have that green paint that adds $1500 in value...

I am jealous of those numbers. 1$ in 2019 took me further than $1.25 does today Frown

This grill is only 18 inches wide. They don't have that anywhere on the Sams club website. Major deceptive marketing. This is terrible price based on size.
18 inch wide is actually good size for Kamado . Most 18 inch ceramic are in the $800 range. Big Green Egg and Kamado joe has 18 inch grate. Little Joe and mini green(which are 13 inch grill) are more expensive than this.

All ceramic kamados are a terrible price based on size.

Cooking Space: 18 7/8″ diameter grate.
All the measurements are on the Vision Grills website. I'm not seeing the deception nor finding a comparable size kamado for a better price.

I bought one of these on clearance at Sam's back in 2015. Still going strong! Based on the pictures it looks like this may not come with the second rack?

For $400 it's a good deal. Invest in a diffuser plate and if you really want to make the most of this, buy a joetisserie. You'll probably have $700 total in it
