LMAO Yeah, so difficult to know the accuracy. "are they both accurate, or are they both inaccurate?" LMAO I was really concerned with battery life. According to a couple of reviews I watched/read, they are pretty accurate. Thanks again.

The gold standard is auscultation manual blood pressure reading. You can always watch a video how to do it, but requires a stethoscope and a manual cuff. I find it relatively easy to do my own, but I'm also a med professional. But if you can learn how to do it, you can always compare an automated and see how accurate it is. Using the right size cuff is also important as the wrong size and artificially increase or decrease the reading.

Also, can easily use a cheap stethoscope for these purposes, no need to buy an expensive one, as long as you don't have imported hearing.

Do you have a link? There are so many models for omron 10 series. Thanks

I just used a search engine with "staples Omron 10" (no quotes) and this was the first hit: https://www.staples.com/omron-10-...t_24418634

I"d be really surprised if this thing didn't go through batteries. It's a pump! I'm trying to find reviews now.
I have a different brand the VA gave me, I've used it 3-4 times per week (2-3 times per occurrence for a good average reading) and I have not changed the batteries once in the last 6 months since it arrived. While you are right there is a pump, it is also low volume, the cuff does not hold much air nor do I imagine the pressure is all that high.

Experts, how accurate is the reading on this? TIA.
I'm no expert, but I found this unit to be very accurate. I was a caretaker for my terminally ill mother and checked this machine against several machines in different doctor's offices. It was always right on the money or very close.

This machine is Made in Japan. In my experience, they make good stuff in Japan!

I purchased this from BestBuy about 2 months ago. It seems spot on with the readings that I get from the hospital.

I too got one pending pickup used the 35% PU coupon. Does anyone know if this Omron Bluetooth pair and sync issue with their apps and with Android OS has been fixed?

Both my past Omron BT devices works for 3 to 6 months and the BT will not sync.

Thanks. That does appear to be the consensus. I'm surprised, but that's what it is. I ended up buying the series 10 someone else posted here. Which this uses both batteries, or AC. Thanks.

Many many many years ago, I was a medic in the service. I used to do those BP readings.

Yep! I think that's the same model as someone "co posted" on this posting. But that one is double the price as the Walgreens deal.

As accurate as the more traditional table top blood pressure monitors. Blood pressure measuring isn't that technically complex and OMRON is by far the leader in the space. They also have information on the third party certification the device earned for accuracy.

I bought this a few weeks ago for work at a nursing home to be accurate yet still fit in a Fanny pack.
Works great, much better than wrist models. Probably a little less accurate than a 2 piece arm Omron unit but I needed the portability.
