Agreed! Ever since I tried Quantum out a few months ago, I can't bring myself to buy any other, no matter how good of a sale it may be!

I've never had a problem just using Finish Powerball or Gelpacs so I've never bothered with the more powerful types. My dishwasher is fairly new and cleans way better than the old one. But I have wondered if some people need to use the stronger detergents to get their dishes clean.

I just switched to cascade platinum though because now im putting my air fryer pieces from my ninja foodi in the dish washer, coming out spotless, it came out clean before, but this is like stuck on grease/grime from air frying,

coming out spotless.

Look it up at Costco and do the math. Price divided by quantity in box. These come out to about 10 cents each

A big factor is how hard your water is. Dishwasher detergents used to contain phosphates which, among other things, soften the water. Since their removal, most detergents don't work as well in hard water. Particularly with getting pots and pans clean since the calcium from the water bonds to the surface during cooking. If you have softer water, cheaper detergents may work fine for you.

Cascade Platinum works best for me if I want the pots clean.
