A wired backhaul was not in the cards in our new house, and we've noticed that the WiFi 6 makes a difference in a 3000sq ft space. We had dead spots, upgraded to the ET8 and no deadspots using just two of the more recent ET8 and the Wifi 6 they afford. Now we use the AX92U as nodes in the mesh.
I can attest to these being fairly easy to set up, and the GUI on the backend is user-friendly enough that I'm able to do some cool things that would otherwise feel beyond my technical comfort zone. Both models were great investments, and it was nice to be able to still use the AX92U in my mesh even after I upgraded to ET8.
I think it's particularly worth it compared to TP Link and other models in a similar price range - ASUS includes their full security and parental control suite with the router, no subscription necessary (unlike TP Link). Seems like a really good mesh for a small to medium house, no complaints so far.

My config is a handful of posts up.
These MoCA bonded 2.5 kit options (a set of 2 adapters) looked interesting to me, based on an Amazon search for MoCA adapters [amazon.com]. Seems 2.5 version of MoCA (bonded) supports fastest speeds and works the best. POE filter is needed to prevent your network traffic from leaking out of your house.
- Hitron, $139.99; ScreenBeam, $149.99; Motorola, $137.99 (I think this [amazon.com] is the set you got? Reduced price from $175.99); TRENDnet, $129.99; goCoax, $114.99.
I will keep this in mind for future applications or when assisting family & friends with network configurations. Another useful technology!Have you (or anyone using MoCA) had any issues with it? Seems that would work more reliably than wireless, based on what I have read.

I have the Asus XT8 (tri-band system) and use wireless backhaul. XT8 has a 2.4ghz radio and two 5ghz radios. Since I'm using wireless backhaul, one 5ghz radio/band is used for backhaul and the other 5ghz band is available for my clients. I have not seen any performance/speed impacts from using wireless backhaul. I am wondering if the same issue noted with the AX92U (when using wireless backhaul) may apply to the XT8? I am not using any WiFi 6 clients with it yet but I read many reviews before purchase, and never saw this concern raised, so I would believe it does not apply to the XT8.
I think otherwise the two units are fairly close. I like the look of the XT8 a bit more (blends in a little better in the living room), but I think both are capable systems and each would be a good choice.
BTW I had tried another dual-band mesh system before this (a dual-band Asus ZenWifi AX Mini [amazon.com]) and wireless backhaul with that didn't work well. Near the router I would get fast speeds, but downstairs near the node I would get about 1/2 speed. So if using wireless backhaul, a tri-band system is needed. A dual-band system can also work well if you used *wired* backhaul. And per the earlier posts in this thread, I think a dual-band system with wired backhaul using MoCA could work very well!
