ps. My best friend last year was a DD driver and nothing sucks more than trying your best and getting nothing for the effort. Whether climbing 3+ flights of stairs, keeping your stuff warm in a nice insulated bag (not the flimsy garbage DD provides) all the while paying $4-5 a gallon for gas.

I do pickups exclusively for Doordash as the restaurant I frequent is only 0.2 miles away. But for UberEats their coupons usually require delivery service. If the discount is 40% or higher it may be enough to offset the delivery fees+tips. Especially if the restaurant is farther away it would be justified for saving the costs of time, gas, and the $1-$2 added to each item.

One thing that sucks about gift cards that is you have a credit card that provides free delivery. If you use a gift card they charge you delivery. I mean I get if you use another credit card, but not a door dash gift card.

Really? that's weird. If so maybe they changed something? From my experience the only thing I missed when placing the order with credit balance is the rebate from Chase Offers.
In my experience I could select the Chase card and the app would apply the credit automatically but still keep the benefits. Also last year I was able to combine the monthly 2x $5 off with Master Cards while paying with Doordash GC. I do not know if DD changed the rules recently...

What's the point of having a gift card deal if you're just going to cancel every order. Cancelled for 3 and cancelled for 1. I give up.

Me too. I tried 5 times and every time they cancelled due to "location restrictions". Chatted with customer service and they said my account was flagged for fraud. He said he flagged my account as clean and to try again in 30 minutes. I tried twice and got the same exact immediate cancellations.

*UPDATE* I have figured out what "location restrictions" means thanks to reddit discussions. If you pay the entire order with GC (default if you have any GC balance, Walmart would tell you they found a "smart way" to pay it.) Their "smart way" would get your order cancelled. This applies to all digital GCs not only Doordash.

Per one of the reddit contributors the order would go through if you pay at least a portion of the order with a credit card. (Paypal is not allowed unless you pay the full amount via Paypal)
I tried the workaround and the order has not been cancelled for a few minutes so far...
If you keep getting cancelled try to use a different payment method. It might work!

BBY and Kroger are way better.
Yeah I gave up after 3...Pretty sure if I bought something else it would go through. They just don't want to sell the discounted gift cards, probably to people who bought them before?

Yeah, their "free Dashpass" for Chase cards has gone from being really free to a weird little grift.

I mean cool deal but when you get the wrong order 50% of the time, then at least 40% of the remaining 50% is a driver that decides to sit in an apartment complex for a full 10 minutes after getting your food, so it arrives cold, is this really a value?

I bought 2500 dollars worth when Costco had them at 20% off. With credit card and Costco membership Cashback I ended up saving 25%. I got the DD membership for free through a chase bank deal. That saves me easily 5% per order. I also pick up most of the time and that saves me another 5%. Occasionally, I get additional discounts through DD deals. I save vs buying directly from the merchant. If I do delivery, with tip, I am still saving or breaking even depending on deal/merchant.

Not a genius, all the deals were through Slickdeals. Did the same thing with Uber eats when Costco had their 20% off deal. Spent half as I did on the DD gift cards. Next deal I am going for 5k of gift cards. I avg 200 a week for a 2 person household Frown

Tried a few times with PayPal and orders were cancelled, then I changed my payment method to a credit card I've used with previous Walmart orders and it went through fine! Got all 5 codes within 30 mins
